Extremely eHealthy
I live in nc too :)

i reccommend another type of birth control too! There are many options, and my favorite is the iud. The iud is non hormonal, so no mood swings, and is effective for 10 years :) !!! There is one that is hormonal(mirena)

the iud is an excellent choice if you want very very effective birth control without worrying daily or monthly.

Thank You So Much
I don't think it should be allowed anymore either...If it would work the same (great) for everyone then it would be worth it...

Crazyness- what did you do to help with your emotions with your boyfriend? Mine broke up with me but missed me but still I can't live like this...

Girlieracerk – the only thing you can do is definitely stop taking depo. Try something that has estrogen in it so you can get back to normal. My problem was that I was unable to please my boyfriend in my head because we were not able to have sex. So I was very angry and taking it out on him saying things like “you want to leave me for a girl who can please you” and everything like that. I fought with him constantly but he did stay by my side until I was back to normal. You said you also had a baby, congratulations by the way! That’s so awesome! The only thing I did was stop taking the depo- but you will not go back to normal right away you have to give yourself time and let your hormones go back to normal. There is nothing actually wrong with you, it’s the drug messing around with your emotions. Your boyfriend should have understood this, birth control fools your body into thinking its pregnant so of course you will be a little more emotional. I think that it was a very bad mood for him to leave you for that reason. I don’t mean to be rude but a real man would not leave you because your emotional, he should have tried to be more understanding and try to work with you more, while I had no sex drive, we still had sex we just would use lubrication and it worked. You sound like a really smart girl, if I were you i’d ditch the depo and ditch the guy at the same time. They both seem bad for you! I hope I helped take care and good luck with the baby!

Hi,i came of the depo for the same reason I have two small children and that stuff made me feel mental, I would have sweats, and be really bad tempered it really scared me, my friend also came of it last year april 05 and still has not had a period it seems to take a long time to come out of your system I think that stuff should be banned

Although I can't speak from experience, as I have not taken depo, I only hear bad things about it. I know two girls who got pregnant while on depo (and they were not due for another shot or anything).
Additionally, my fiance's best friend was with a girl for about 2 years when she switched from pills to depo, and she became extremely moody and just irrational towards her boyfriend - however, her sex drive went through the roof! They would have sex at least twice every day (tmi maybe, sorry!). They eventually broke up after 2 more years.

I just started the depo 2 weeks ago and I noticed my mood would change very often. I don't even have the urge for sex anymore. Now I have to wait a loooooong time to be normal again. It was a waste of time taking this thing. And I regret doing it. I don't know what to do to be sexually active. And I'm not ready for a child until after school and marriage.
