I have been on ortho lo for a year and a half and I havent had many side effects other than breast tenderness. Everyones body is different, but for some reason, my breasts get so so sore, to the point where its hard to even move at times. This doesnt just happen right before my period but sometimes for two weeks before my period and sometimes for the wholemonth. The pain subsides a bit and they become less tender, but this is the one side effect that enhanced when I went on birth control. I always had breast tenderness even when I didnt take the pill, but it got so much worse once I went on the pill. Its odd though becuase sometimes, I can go through a month with no breast pain at all...Does anyone else experience this!? Any insight would be of great help! I need to know that im not the only one experiencing this!!!

I get sore breasts too, during the middle of the month it seems. However it doesn't impede movement too much, just wearing a bra normally helps reduce movement and pain. I'm also on ortho lo.

Many people have different side effects with different pills. Maybe see about talking to your doctor to switch brands. I never had the breast tenderness on the pills.. But had it really bad the first few months I was on the ortho evra, so I don't recommend the patch because it's very common to have tenderness with it (although with most people, including myself, the tenderness goes away after about 2-3 months of being on it)

Breast Tenderness
Sunnyface22 your not alone. I have been on ortho lo for year and a half. Some months they are sore for the whole month, unbearable at times. My doctor told me to cut back on caffine, drink plenty of water, exercise and take vitamin b-12. At times that I am in a lot of pain, I try to exercise. I know it sounds crazy and painful, but it does help and seems like when they are so swollen it makes them go back down to normal. I hope this can give you some insight.

Thanks for all your insight everyone. Its nice to know there are other people out there, suffereing from the same thing. I was in a car accident last night and the stress and trauma from the accuident onset my period a week early, so now my boobs will be hurting evem more than normal. Its a never ending battle but I did talk to my doctor and she said that caffeine does have a big effect on breast tenderness and that I should cut out salt and caffeine from my diet and see how I feel after that. Its hard to just cut them out like that, but little at a time, im trying. Thanks again for all your help. Its greatly appreciated!
