What exactly is the immediate weight lost after the baby's born?

You lose all your fluid weight first and then the extra pounds that you put on..If you did not pig out during pregnancy you should be back to your normal self within 6-8 weeks.

I didn't "pig out" during pregnancy. I was really underweight when I got pregnant. My doctors told me to gain 65 pounds. I gained almost 80. I was back in my size 3s after 3months, zeros after 6 months. It really just depends on your body, whether you breastfeed or not, what type of weight you gained (i gained a lot of water weight due to pre-eclampsia), etc. There's no telling. I have a friend (my neighbor) whose daughter is almost 18 months old and she's still 30 pounds heavier. Really... It just depends.

I actually want to keep the weight that I gained everywhere but my stomach. Wehn I first started gaining I went from a 1 to a 2 to a 4. I like that size and I hope that once the tummy goes down I can keep it. Or it would be even better if I could make it to a 6 (i've still got 12 weeks left).

I stayed in pretty good shape when I was pregnant. I was in the army so I worked out at the gym pretty much everyday for about an hour. It helped me to not feel as fatigued and so healthy. I stopped working out at 7 1/2 months and I had my son november 19, 2005. I haven't worked out since (as much as I would love to) and I just got back down to a size 4 (my pre-pregnancy size). The key is breastfeeding. You can still pretty much eat what you want (within reason) and the weight just drops off! Its amazing.

ack!! I want to breastfeed but I don't want to lose the weight!!

With elisa I lost 10 lbs the first day with cameron I lost 8 lbs I had lost 25 lbs in the first two weeks because I was sick (wasnt eating) I still need to loose another 37 lbs to get back to prepregnancy weight(i lived off chocolate this pregnancy lol!!)

Well i'm 1 month post partum now... :)
and omg the weight is just melting off!!! I'm not quite at pre-preggy shape yet (i try on my fav. Pair of jeans everyday...) I think i'm still about 10 lbs more than before... The weirdest thing is my tummy... Instead of being so tight and hard like it used to be... Now it is just flabby and jelly like.... I am thinking about applying some firming lotion and see what happens.. :) and yes.. I am breast feeding :) I also do pilates or go for a walk every day

I lost about 25 pounds in maybe a week after having my son. Then I gradually got more in shape and then, because I wasn't eating too smart, gained weight again. So don't get carried away when you see all that weight drop fast, it's only temporary.
