a little bit about myself, I am a marine
corp drill instructor in san diego.
To say the least my job has me on my feet
anywhere from 16-20 hours a day going
crazy on recruits and I only get a few
hours a night of sleep. I get regular
exercise, but I do not properly eat at
all, I am always on the go and there is
just no time for me to eat properly. I
squeeze in a power bar and maybe some
fruit here and there if I am lucky.
So my question is, can I get some
reccomendations on supplements, vitamins,
quick and easy meal replacement
alternatives. I am feeling run down and
I can just tell my body isn't getting the
proper nutrition.
Don't take this as me whining, becuase
there are thousand of di's that went
before me and they did it and to be honest
there is no time for me to whine at work
all I will here is "who is on the boys?".
I am just trying to find some help to
keep me physically and mentally healthy.
Any help will be appreciated, I am on a 3
day break (this is my first day off in 3
months) and will not have a chance after
that to get back online, so some quick
help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hey I am really sorry u didn't get an
answer. I don't know u will probably
never check this forum again especially if
u don't get to use the internet for
another few months, however I would like
to try and help.
I wish I could ask you what exactly u r
able to eat while you are working. I
would say for one with the amount of
physical actiavity u do and the long hours
you work you need to be eating a lot.
Good things to have with you are nuts they
r easy to take a long and have a of
protein which will sustain you. Stay
with poer bar like things for qucik snacks
but remember those cannot be your meals.
Also in times of feeling run down and
needing a boost though it won't last long
having some honey like a table spoon
straight will help a long with glucose
tabs for diabetics.

Taking a once daily multi-vitamin is a
great place to start. I take one-a-day
brand and they seem to be great. In the
newest consumer reports, they recommend
taking either centrum or one-a-day because
they actually do as they promise.
Another supplement packed with nutrition
is ensure/boost but they are expensive.
If you can, every time ricky has chow you
need to be packing chow as well. I am a
navy vet so I have no clue what the
schedule you are on is like, our boot camp
was basically spent in the class and
learning how to march on the grinder. We
ate really well and as far as I am aware,
no one was ever hungry.
If you are packing meals to bring in, you
should be using the heaviest whole grain
breads and really good quality meats and
cheeses to be gut bombs and they bring
tons of good quality nutrition to the game
as well.
You are in a tough spot because there are
no breaks in boot but whenever you can,
sneak off and get some high quality food
from your cooler.
