Q: Infections Dominating My Life! Help!

Over the last 2 years I have suffered with re-occuring yeast infections. Ive had blood tests done and they came back normal, ive also had loads of swabs done and they came back fine (apart from the yeast infection). I have changed my bath products to unperfumed, made sure my underwear is 100% cotton, my fiance has been tested, but I still keep getting it! I think my doctors given up on me because when I go to see him he just gives me 'another' prescription and sends me away. Its really beginning to get me down. Does anyone have any advice on why I might keep getting these infections? And any tips on how to get rid of them for good?!

Hey..
Hey the one piece of advise I can give you is to make sure your not having sex with your partner @ the time of you yeast infection. I have heard that if your having sex with your partner he can contract the yeast infection him self and give it back to you. I was told that by a dr a couple years ago. Have you tried wearing panty liners, and drinking cranberry juice because that keeps your uninary track clean and your bladder clean as well.

Hope this helps.

Are you taking birth control? I have chronic yeast infections from the estrogen in the birth control. The only time I was infection free was the 9 months I was on the depo shot (no estrogen).. But it gave me really bad acne so I had to go on something else.

Thanks for the advice ladies!

Kryss - my boyfriend has been checked for it before, and to be honest when I have an infection its so sore I couldnt even have sex if I wanted it! Lol! Cant hurt for me to send him back to the doctors to be checked again tho!

Wakkochic17 - the birth control thing did cross my mind but I have since came off the pill to try to have a baby but am still getting infections.

I have heard that natural yoghurt can be soothing, has anyone else heard this? How would you actually use it???

Yogurt contains acidophilus and other good bacteria which are helpful to yeast balance. You could always eat yogurt everyday, or even insert plain natural yogurt into your vagina, which is yes very very soothing for yeast infections. It doesn't necessarily cure them though..
