All of the Symptoms But Tsh Levels Ok???
Posted: 01-24-06 19:28pm

I am looking for any knowledge or insight that may help me get back to being me. I began noticing the changes in nov 05', it started with the feeling of having a lump in my throat (like before you cry). It has never been something that I can see or feel with my hands but pretty constant (sometimes feeling more swollen then others). Then from late nov to the first of jan I gained 11lbs and 3" on my waist. I thought surely I must be pregnant (keep in mind we were not trying). I took 3 pregnancy test (all neg. And then got my period. Within the last week or two i've noticed huge changes in the way I feel. Here is a list i've been keeping: extreme fatigue, terrible brain fog (like i'm on cold medicine), thirsty all of the time, constipation (never had the problem before), dry eyes, my hands and feet are freezing and purple all of the time (never had that problem before), my eyes get very blurry, its like I look at object but I don't really see anything, im just gazing. This is so unlike me at all!! Im bubbly, full of life and love what I do but I am having such a hard time focusing. My whole day is a constant daze. Please help. My tsh level came back at 1.5 but my doc did not order any of the t's or antibodies. I really think the thyroid my be my problem based on what my body is doing. But I am not a phd.......Help......Please. Audrey :(

Hello audrey, are you in hidden thyroidism? Though tsh didn't show any supportive figures. Through symptoms you mentioned, possibly hypothyroid?? I m in hyperthyroidism and taking chinese medi. Which smoothed my symptoms like my eyes also, very important, feeling better, not dry and not so tired now. At least start from basic natural stuff...Cos I m afraid prescription drugs do induce some side effects. I took "healthguard t18" from singapore for 1 treatment already. The condition is improving that I m happy about. I hope that can help you symptoms. Now also important is for you try relax and try to stay in a healthy dietary.

I have all these symptoms my tsh and t3 were fine. Hypo hyper and fluxuating between both extremes, all of it runs in my family. When I described my symptoms to my aunt who had the hypo really bad and no doctors believed her til she couldn't even move and was bed-ridden for days, everything I said she experienced at that time. Even down to the gross closing/spasm feeling in the throat when smoking.

Aphil are you receiving treatment from an endo?

The 1.5 is almost perfect...............Have you had your t3 level checked??

If you do have high antibodies, i'm not sure how they would treat that, because they usually give people with high anti's a t4, which would bring your tsh level down, and since your's is 1.5 i'm not sure how much lower it should go without causing you the risk of becoming hyper

You are also desrcibing the symptoms of sjogrens syndrome. Dry eye's are one of the markers of the disease.
