Painful Boil
Posted: 01-24-06 18:18pm

I've had reoccurring boils right at the base of my tailbone, (right where your buttcheeks begin) for a while now but nothing very painful and they usually went away within a day or so. This time its much much worse. I have a much larger and more painful one in the same spot as the others. I bought some ichthammol ointment but have only used it once so far. I also heard that campho phenique helps them too. I was just wondering if this thing will eventually go away on its own because I don't wanna have to go to the doctor to get rid of it. Is there anything else I can do to make it go away, (i'm a college student living in the dorms so I only have access to certain things). If anyone can recommend anything to treat this damn thing and make it go away as soon as possible that would be great because I can't even drive or sleep or sit without it hurting me terribly. Please help!

So I don't have a carbuncle or abscess or whatever the hell those things are called then? Its just a boil for sure? I mean I asked my sister because she's always had a problem with boils under her arms and she said thats what it is even though you can't see it very well because of where it is. Its just so painful, almost unbearably (i do have a very low tolerance for pain though, haha) I just want it gone as soon as possible!
