I have been having troubles with "bladder infections" for the past 2 years. In 1 year I have gotten 14 - 15 infections.. (this is no lie) I now have lost count in how many infections I have had since the first "bad" one. I have gone through several tests (scope, ultrasound, urine tests) and have not reached to a conclusion on why I get this problem... Does anyone have the same problem?? Had the same problem?? Or know anything to help me please respond!!!

I have been stressing about this and getting quite tired of getting one every month!!!!!! :x :(

Question
I don't mean to pry, but an important piece of information is do you get these bladder infections after sex? If so, then there are many ways to help to eliminate or at least severely reduce the number of uti's.

In general, regardless of the cause of the uti's, you might want to try frequently cleaning the genital area with alcohol or disinfecting wipes. For a lot of women, simply bathing each day and washing like normal just isn't enough to prevent bladder infections. I've had similar problems of frequent bladder infections, although not nearly as bad as yours. I usually get about 3 to 4 a year.

Your doctor can also put you on daily antibiotic treatment. You might want to discuss the possibility with your doctor. Obviously, it would be wonderful to be able to discover the medical cause of these numerous bladder infections, but small doses of antibiotics taken daily can prevent those infections from occuring, making you much happier.

Hope this helps!

I wish I knew the reason, I know its not because of "intercourse" if I stay away from it I still get them... I was on daily anti-biotics 2 times but I came allergic to them.. The next step is to go see a specialist in a city a far ways away... Hope they can figure things out, I am getting married in september and I hope to god its gone by then!!

Since the last post ive had a few more infections... Ive tried taking cranberry pills but it doesnt seem to be doing anything...

I hope to god I get a call to go to the specialist soon!!! Im dying :x :(

Yeah, I know it can be a real pickle. But 15 a year is really extreme, so i'm more inclined to think they're not caused or prevented by anything you're doing/not doing. And i'm assuming you've already tried everything.

Have they looked at your urinary tract? Sometimes if you have a narrow one or other problems, that can cause you to get them a lot. It can be corrected through surgery, but I don't know if you've already explored that option (i know you mentioned a scope test, but I don't know what they were looking for.) it just seems a bit weird that you've recently started getting them. If it were something genetic, you'd most likely get them during childhood too. A specialist is a really good idea. That's about all the advice I can give you. Hope everything works out!
