:?

Hello all,
i got married in nov 2004 and had irregular periods before marriage. After marriage in convieced immediately in feb 2005 unfortuantely had to terminate the baby due to acarnia(brain and neck not formed) in the 5th month(july 30th)and then the dr scanned and told that no pcod and from july 30th I had regular periods. We got all the tests done and everything was normal except the karotype result which showed translocation of (8,18) in me and normal in my husband. But me and my siblings are all very very normal and no major abnormalities. The genitic dr mentioned that I have only 50% chances of a healthy pregnancy. We used to have sex but never took risk as we wanted to give a gap to recover. We never used any condoms or pills it was calculated sex.My last menstrual period(lmp) was dec7th 2005 and my dr asked us to have sex on 13th,15th and 17th day and we did so and I have not got my periods till date.I tried 4htp and all came out -ve and blood test shwd hcg<2.However I feel some symptoms like cramps in lower abdominal, back ache, freq urination and bloating tummy.I visited the dr and she asked me to take a htp on 20th if -ve then start rogestrone tablets for 5days.Please please let me know if the test can be -ve still could be pregnant. If not what these tablets are for.

A hpt can show negative but still be positive if it's used too soon for the hcg levels in your urine to be strong enough. Are the pills progesterone? The increased levels of progesterone in your body just before your period can cause the bloating, and if you're pregnant those levels increase even more. Progesterone is used to help regulate your cycles among other things. It's a hormone your body produces normally when you ovulate and throughout pregnancy.

Hi to Rk...

My last menstrual date was 7 dec 2005, same as urs. I also have irregular periods. I did do hpt tests and all r negative. So I have actually started on the progestrone pills for 5 days.

My doc said that after the last pill, I should get my period within a week or else come back for a check up. Coz I could be pregnant or the medicine is not working for me.

When I asked him whether the progestrone has any bad effects on the foetus and the doc said no. It actually helps the baby.

So dun worry much and if need to take the pills just take it. I also have bad cramps, backaches and headaches.

Let's keep in touch,

i'm lalitha here from singapore... Pls introduce ur'self.
