Q: What is Causing Nausea Increase after 6 Months?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on January 23rd, 2006
For the last 6 months I have increasing nausea. It has grown from once or twice a day to almost all the time, and with each day it is almost to the point to where i have to run to the bathroom but i cannot vomit. My stomach does not hurt but feels irritated, and my gag reflexes are on high...I was just wondering what might be wrong since it is getting worse and worse.

Nausea Answer A257
First, you should check your stomach. A gastroscopy and Helicobacter pillory-serology must be completed to identify possible stomach disease(s) : gastritis, peptic ulcer, gastro-esophageal reflux, hiatus hernia, etc. Blood analyses (Er,Ly,Ne,Hgb,Hct,sedimentation, liver profile, urea, creatinin,…) and an abdominal ultrasound can also be requested. Furthermore, anxiety CAN CAUSE nausea (especially when unaccompanied by vomiting and/or gastric pain).
