Hey guys. I started ortho tri-cylen lo this month. I'm on day 15 of the pills. Ever since I started taking the pills, i've noticed my hair has been falling out really badly. I can actually feel my hair getting thinner and there's just hair everywhere...My bed, the shower, etc. Anyway, I noticed that "loss of scalp hair" is a possible side effect of the pill. I'm going to call my doctor in the morning and hope that I hear that it will stop once my body gets used to the hormones and I can continue to stay on birth control. My question is...Has this happened to anyone else?

Hair Loss
I saw your post, and I wanted to tell you the exact same thing happenned to me! Myhair is falling out sooo bad since I started taking lo-ovral. I saw on the website hair loss is a side effect. So I quit taking it. My hair was really thinning out. It scared me. I am glad to see someone else has had the same problem. (not glad, but relieved that it probably is the birth control) my hair has slowed down a little, but it is still falling out. Hope it makes you feel better to know it probably is the birth control.

Extremely eHealthy
Hi, I wanted you to know that I have noticed a few women who have had severe thinning hair from birth control, it is a less common side effect, but can happen.

Just in case you are interested, and iud is an excellent option for birth control, and is hormone free! Paragard is the copper iud , hormone free and will last up to 10 years, but you can have it taken out sooner if you wish:) I have this one and love it.
