Some one I know has chronic pancreatitis
and has had it for years at least 17
years. He use to drink when he was
younger and he would some times get
attacks and some times not. He stopped
drinking 3 years ago he started to drink
again and alot in the last 6 months and he
hasn't had an attack. My question is can
the pancreas heal it self? He had his
first attack when he was only 12 and it
was from a viral infection. When he
would drink he would have one or two and
then he would have an attack in the next 3
days. He has even had attacks with out
drinking just by not getting a regular
sleep for a week or so. I'm just really
wondering why it is he hasn't had an
attack when he has been drinking enough to
get him drunk for the last 2 months.
Every weekend he has been drunk. We has
also just found out that he also suffers
from hemochromatosis. Could that be what
was causing his attacks in the first
place?
Thank you for you time

it's amazing what our bodies can endure.
Probably he couldn't feel the pain due to
the seditive affect of the alcohol.
Also, perhase he just ignored the symptoms
as just another of many after a night of
boozing it up. Hemachromatosis may be
related to liver disease.
