My girlfriend has been on the pill for almost an entire cycle of active pills. She started them on the first day of her period. We plan on having unprotected sex for the first time when she takes her 20th pill. Now i've read that if you start the pill on the first day of your period your safe after 7 days. I've also read that they recommend you complete the entire cycle of pills. Basically is it safe to not use a condom now?

You are supposed to wait 7 days after starting the pack. A full 7 days that is. I would say after that you are fine, provided she hasn't missed any or taken any late.
