Q: Erectile Dysfunction Problem, Due to Masturbation?

Please read this, im very scared about the fact that I might have an impotence problem, and I dont know much about it so I need some help.

Im 19 years old, and I had the chance to lose my virginity almost a year ago, and it was with a girl I was very attracted to, and when it came time, I couldnt obtain an erection. I asked her to give me oral sex but that didnt do anything for me either. Then, I was getting oral sex from a different girl about a month later, and I did have an erection, but it wasnt as hard as it should be, and I didnt feel myself coming close to orgasm even after about 15 minutes. She said we could have sex so I walked 20 feet across the room to get a condom and when I came back, my erection was gone. Then, it happened again when this girl was trying to give me a handjob, although it was in a very uncomfortable position lying on the ground and she wasnt very good at it. Then, it happenbed for the final time recently, and she was giving me oral sex and nothing happened at all, it wasnt getting hard at all whatsoever.

So, all 4 of these times, I was drinking alcohol. But I wasnt really that drunk, at least not enough to explain these problems. I was pretty attracted to all the girls each time, and they seemed to be good at giving oral sex so I dont think it was that either.

I masturbate about once a day, and I was wondering if that may have anything to do with it, whether I do it too much, or if my penis is used to the perfect stroke of my hand and oral sex isnt vigorous enough to get me hard.

I also am on concerta, which is a pill for add.

I have never had a problem getting an erection during masturbation, so I was also thinking that it might have something to do with me being nervous when im with a girl. I was nervous that first time since I considered the girl "out of my league"...And I never am completely comfortable when I am getting a sexual act performed on me.

So, does anyone have any answers? Would cialis help? Is it very rare for someone so young, only 19, to have this problem, because I thought it was only among older men, around 40 or older.

Thanks so much for any help you can give me.

Stay away from the pills, you're too young. Based on your age (as much as you are gonna not want to believe this), it's jsut nerves. Nothing much you can do about it, except give it time.

Alcchol, stress, meds and your age does not mix especially with your age, take it easy too with the masterbation.
Good luck!

There are no other answers for this?

Because I have heard that certain medications, like ritalin, concerta, and adderall....Can give you sexual dysfunction side effects.

I am going to see my girlfriend this weekend and would like some tips on how I can combat this problem, because it happened with her last time and it was pretty embarassing.

Are you all sure it's just nerves? Because I felt somewhat comfortable with her last time, and when she tried to give me oral sex, it didnt not even come close to starting to become erect.

Could it have anything to do with the position I am in? Usually when I masturbate I am sitting in a normal chair in the same position I would be in while doing homework or surfing the internet.

All these times when I have had this problem, I have been lying down, and thinking about it now, thats not a comfortable position for me to masturbate in so maybe I have trouble getting erections in that position?

And also....Do you think that maybe I should manually give myself an erection when we are about to have sex or shes about to give me oral, and let her continue it?

Please help, im pretty scared and freaked out about this, I just spent 20 minutes trying to call my doctor about it but he wasnt there.

Overmasturbation disrupts your neuroendocrine function, you can heal but it will take some time with excercise, good diet and abstinance.

stop masturbating. Start on exercise and eat well.. im on this track myself and I know its not easy but were men and for the sake of our own "manhood" as many of us understand it to be we have to suffer the concecuenses so we can learn.

You only ahve one penis and you have to treat it like the last king left on earth.. Ive learned this the hard way but im correcting myself day by day Wink. Good Luck my friend and stay strong.

Never has there been credible medical or scientific proof that masturbation can cause ED in a healthy human. Masturbation maintains normal function of your endocrine system. Daily masturbation is the AMA reccomended level to maintain good reproductive health. If you're having difficulties masturbating once daily you have larger health issues to deal with.

Concerta doesn't list any sexual side effect but it can cause interruption of neuromuscular control. I'm not sure how they figure that doesn't cause erectile problems in men. I've bounced around a few other health forums and found that, not listed on their site, concerta testing showed a 1.5 percent of erectile disfunction in men using the drug (I guess the percentage of women who had sexual side effects was low enough to bring the trail percentage under 1% so it did not have to be a listed side effect). There are a lot of people who were having problems getting an erection while on Concerta that were able to resume healthy sexual function when they switched medicaiton. I'd suggest you talk with your doctor about your erection issues and see if they'll put you on something else at least for a bit.
