Q: Dre - Prostate Exam

Several years ago, as part of a pre-op exam, the doc (general surgeon)did a dre on me. He put his finger in to about the first knuckle, twisted it slightly, pulled it out saying: "your prostate's ok." I don't think he even touched my prostate. I have read that the prostate should be carefully checked for symetry, bumps or growths, a center groove, etc, and that all areas be examined. How does a med student demonstrate that he or she can do a proper prostate exam in order to be cretified/licensed?
