Im 12 wks pregnant and seem to be retaining fluid already has anyone else experienced this

I am 35 wks pregnant and have been experiencing fluid retention from so early on in my pregnancy... Around 12 -13 weeks.... Right now im soo swollen from it, and sore. My face arms hands legs feet everything have just blown up and ive been told by my doctor that its water retention and have been told to not walk and keep my legs elevated as much as possible, I have sergical (cnt spell) stockings for my legs and my feet are so sore when I walk... I was told it got so bad because I didnt rest from the start. So rest and drink lots of water and elevate ur legs as much as possible starting now! U dont want to be like me! Wish I would have listened earlier. Good luck
