Hello everyone..

The last couple months I have been having on and off pain (weird dull pain) in my testicles, mainly in my left testicle and also noticed I have a bump or so on my left testicle near the top.. I waited thinking this would go away but now its really bothering me.. Also right now when my left testicle is hurting it seems to affect my left leg a bit, it feels really strange and hard to describe.. And my testicles have been really sore and sensitive lately.

Anyone have similiar problem or an idea of what it is? Im pretty scared..

Thanks!!

Left Testicle Pain Need Help!!!
Hello. I have had some of the same syptoms. I seen a doctor and here is my experience with this situation. Whenever you feel testicular pain go to the doctor as soon as possible. Don't be ashamed or embaressed. The syptoms I was having were: discomfort in my right testicle, dull pains in the testicle, some pains in the leg. The doctor suspected that it was epididymitis and put me on anti-biotics. He also had me to go in to see a urologists where they did an ultrasound on both testicles. The ultrasound is to make sure you have no torsion down there. The ultrasound is painless and nothing to worry about. The ultrasound showed that there was no torsion but that there was an infection. So I was kept on the anti-biotics and told to take ibuprofen for pain and inflammation, also to wear supportive briefs, and to just rest for a while. It has been over a month and I have had this treated twice. I will go monday for the third treatment. Epididymitis can be very stubborn and hard to get rid off. This does not mean that you have epididymitis. Anytime you feel a "lump" on your testicle you should definetly be seen right away. Go to the emergency room if you have to. Just do not let this linger on b/c the longer you wait the worse your problem will get and it will become harder to treat. There are some other things that could possibly be wrong but from all the studying I have done epididymitis seems to be one of the more common in males these days. Don't get yourself all worked up about it b/c that will only add to the stress. Just go and have this checked as soon as you can. I will remember to pray for you tonight and I will check this post again to see how everything comes out. God bless!

I have had similar symptoms. The pain in my left testicle is not sharp or unbearable, it is just achy and annoying. I have had this pain for a couple of weeks, and i think it could be from getting hit in the groin 2 times whilst playing soccer. It has swollen up a little bit over the past few days, and feels like there is a sack of fluid attatched to my testicle. I couldnt find anything out on my online search, so i came here. Any IDEAS?

ANy male with moderate to severe pain in any part of his body needs to go to a doctor. That applies to females too.

I've also had the same on my left, had it for 3 & half years but now it's only the second time it's flared up. I've had all the same symptoms for 4 weeks now, dull & sharp pain, pain shooting up my side & down my leg, the area around it tingles like it's fallen asleep. All my muscles are so tense from contracting all the time from sooting pain. The thing is I've seen urologists twice in the past 3 years & he tells me it's nothing serious, just an irritated nerve thats causing the blood vessels to swell. 1 course of anti-inflammatories worked ok the first time 2 years ago, I'm now on my forth different type & pain pills, but the pain is still there.

So do I trust the doctor? he was the second opinion doctor who confirmed what the first one said. I am under pressure at work, don't eat too well, not much exercise, could those be causes? the doctor never even mentioned if your lifestyle could affect it. Not easy to get help either with no medical aid.

Hi DCZ, I had epididymitis for approximately 6 months. Initially the pain and inflammation wasn't bad, but it got so bad one night I called the doctor straight away. I had a urine test, blood work and several physical examinations. As you describe I also have an inflamed Epididimis on the left side even though the treatment seems to have worked. I saw a urologist who gave me a physical examination and antibiotics. On my return to the hospital I pointed out the lump above the left testicle and he said there was nothing there that shouldn't be, it just seems as though it's losing the swelling very slowly.

The best thing would be to get a physical and find out if a simple set of antibiotics can clear it up. As other posters have mentioned (and in my experience) it can take some time so try and stay calm.

probably epididymitis
i have had it chronically for nearly twenty years. on and off. i was told a vasectomy would stop the problem. nope. definitely see a doctor but don't freak out. sometimes the problem flares up and goes away, other times you would need antibiotics. don't forget to finish the dosage - you don't want to become immune to the treatment. my advice, stop wearing jeans - the low rise (high crotch and thick seams) always hurt my testes. that was the biggest help. Also more support is good. Try boxer briefs, nice long legs but good sac support. Have sex or masturbate regularly, gotta keep the flow (this last advice empirical, i don't have medical support for it).

Good luck.

Boyfriend's left testicle hurts
hi everybody, I'm just doing a search online to see if i can figure out the cause of the pain to my boyfriends left testicle. He says the pain started in middle school. It's always his left testicle. it doesn't always hurt though. sometimes it hurts for a day and then he's fine for like a couple weeks. He doesn't know what brings on the pain. there are no lumps or bumps in that area. He went to a doctor when he was in middle school and they said nothing was wrong with him. He went to another doctor who gave him some meds (he doesn't remember what it was) but it helped for a little bit.

Anyway long story short His pain started in middle school and has been going off and on since and he is now 20.

Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks

TRY THIS
I have been battling the same pain as described in this post. I was perscribed an antibioitc for 20 days and it did not really quite fix the problem bit it did seem to help.

I have tracked the problem down to some herbal supplements I've been taking and the real kicker is that it took me over a month after I stopped taking the supplements for it the pain to stop.

The supplement were for prostrate and another for libido. They contained many of the same ingredients. I have not isolated the ingredient that causes the pain but here is a list of some things you might want to steer clear of for awhile and see if it helps:

Ginger Root Extract
Horny Goat Weed Extract
Niacin
L-Arginine
Yohimbe
Maca
Ashwagandha

I took some horny goat weed about three weeks ago. The pain started around two weeks ago, is there any chance that the herbal supplement can cause epididymitis. My right one seems to fall asleep sometimes and the side of my hip/lower left back also hurt as well as my leg. I am going to the doctor on monday to get it checked out. Just wondering if anyone had any info on the relation between the herbal supplement and the epididymitis.

Varicocele
I stay in Pune-India, Male, 28 yrs. I had a dull pain, feeling of heaviness and a dragging effect on my left testicle. I consulted an urologist and he forwarded me for a Scrotal USG - Doppler study for Varicoele. Its a type of sonography and it detected a left sided varocicele. Further I also got done a seman analysis and it was fantastic. Varicocele did not affected my semen at all. I further underwent an open surgery for varicocele. After taking a rest of 1 week I am back to work with full of my energy.

I had opinions of several doc/urologists and what I can advise is that:

- If u are married fathering childrens and do not have any plans for any further childrens, then dont go for surgery. Instead wear a tight undies or even a jock strap and that should relieve u from pain

- If u r not married, then get a seman analysis done. Medical science is yet not very clear wether or not actually a varicocele effects sperms. In my case it did not. In case your seman analysis report is not good or you have a severe and unbearable kind of pain then go for surgery to remove varicocele. If your seman analysis report is very good then avoid surgery unless you have an unbearable kind of pain.

About Surgery:
Cost: In India it shud be around 25k to 35k INR depending upon the hospital.

After Surgery:
You are suppose to take bed rest for 1st two days and then normal rest for next 3 days. Say within a week you are ready to join work. For first 2 months you are advised not to lift any heavy items or not to under take any task where immnese pressure is to be applied. After that you are completely normal.

Insurance coverage:
Depends upon insurance company. If you are not married and not doing this operation to improve fertility then there is a bright chance for you to be insured.

topical ointment
had similar problems after a vascectomy. the cure for me was tight undies and a topical my dr prescribed. Lidocaine, Ketaprofen, and Ketamine. I just rubbed that on my testes and it worked like magic.

Hi, I was sitting at work one day and all of a sudden a pain in my left testicle, and then I had a sharp pain in my pelvic going from left to right. Ever since then I have had a dull sharp pain in my right testicle, and pain on my butt sometimes in my legs. I had blood work at the hospital but no infection. I also have sharp pain in my lower abdomian but it hardly happens. I also get this weird tingle feeling in my scrotum ( can't really describe it) and sometimes get a feeling like I am about to faint but when I sit down it goes away. Can someone help me?
