A couple of weeks ago, I noticed a strange
rash on my abdomen. Over the next week it
spread down to my theighs and over my
biceps, with a couple spots on my forearms
and shins. It looks like chickenpox-
small, red bumps, but it doesn't itch, and
it doesn't hurt with the exception of a
couple at the belt line that got chafed.
The skin on top of the bumps will peel off
if I scrape them, but even if I really go
at them, they don't really bleed at all.
I can't find anything about this anywhere,
and i'm putting off seeing a dermatologist
because i've been so busy lately.
What could this possibly be? How
dangerous is it? Will it go away on its
own?
Aside from having the rash, I feel
completely fine.
Oh and a last note- I have the vaccination
for chicken pox, and i'm still a virgin,
so it's pretty much impossible that this
is any kind of std.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

I got a rash about 4 yrs ago that started
on my arms, and spread throughout my body.
I went to several doctors, and they all
had different opinions. It looked like
rubiolla, but my rash did itch, for about
1wk. My whole body was swollen because it
was covered in these red bumps.
They became less and less red as months
went by. I was left with
post-inflammatory pigmentation dissorder.
That just means that I was left with scars
after being swollen. I still don't feel
comfortable showing any skin when I dress.
I can still see the dark spots of where
the bumps used to be. If you still
haven't been to the doctor, I suggest you
go, and ask if it could be stress related,
because it is very probable that it is.

Hi under construction, thanks for the
post.
The rash I mentioned in my previous post
is now long gone. I went to a
dermatologist who diagnosed it as
pityriasis rosea, a viral infection with a
low rate of recurrence. It went away a
couple weeks later, but lasted more than a
month from its original appearance.
