Hello mitch,
i can relate. I was doing the same thing a month ago. I had already gone to the doctor and newly on medication for my anxiety and panic attacks. I tried to take my sister shopping but as soon as I got into the store I did practically the same thing you explained. I had to get out, I began to freak out and I quickly left the mall and went to my car. I didn't feel alright until I arrived home. I could not leave the house for a couple weeks without this happening. It was scary. I had to take time off work so the meds would kick in. With my job you have to be alert and not like I was because I care for sick people in a hospital. You have to constantly have to be on your toes. Being at work really freaked me out because I am a worrier. I was afraid of dying... So working in that environment did not help my situation at all.
I just thought I would let you know that you are not alone. Although I am a lot better now, pretty much back to normal...Whatever that is. Just without the panic attacks.

Take care,
justy24

I had the same thing happen to me today. I have been having attacks for a couple of weeks now. I went to a friends birthday party and on theway there I started getting chest pains, when I got there I started having trouble breathing, felt heavy, and started trembling. I went outside for awhile alone and started taking long deep breaths. I was better in about 10-15 minutes, but I am still having the chest pain that is going into my back/shoulder. I read somewhere that people that suffer from panic/anxiety attacks can develop something, can't remember what it is called, but it is where the person can have the attacks in certain situations, ie while drving, in a social situation, while at work, etc. Good luck.
