Q: My Throat

I'm bulimic(been for about seven years) and I have eroded my tonsils and they have little orifices in them that store little pieces of a soft yellowish material that my doctor said were platelets...He didn't say anything except that I now have to use listerine for the rest of my life. My mother told him about my ed and i'm too ashamed to seek a second opinion. Could someone please help me find out what is wrong with my throat?

I have no knowledge of bulemia's effect on the tonsils--but I get hard yellow-white bits in my tonsils sometimes and i've never been bulemic (and I don't get sick naturally much either).

The ones that I get are called tonsilliths (tonsil stones). They are made up of food particles, mucus, just whatever gets in those crevices by your tonsils.

Still, dunno if that's the same thing. Just might put your mind at ease if it was something as simple as tonsilliths. (listerine probably helps those, too.)

Stuff Where Tonsils Used to Be And Bulimia
I've been a bulimic for 20 years. And I too have always had those nasty little smelly things on where my tonsils use to be (the must have disappereared due to the builima because I never had them removed by a doctor). The doctor told me that I had food particials built up and asked me if I made my self throw up. I denied it to the hills. But I knew where he was going. I use long q tips and wet them in mouth wash then work the particles off of the indentions of where my tonsils use to be. And then I use mouth wash.
The one thing I have noticed is I have been in counseling for over a year for my ed and I have not made myself get sick in a year. I have not had any stuff in the back of my throat in a while either.
