I'll make a long story short. Starting having chest pains abdomen pains in november. Had ekg, chest xray, and bloodwork. Everything was normal except for high cholestorol. A few weeks later developed an ear infection and sinu infection. Found a swollen gland in my throat, went to doctor got anitbiotics but could not finish them due to stomach virus. Went back got more medicine and have starting taking them, still have the swollen gland. Well the swollen gland has had me stressed since christmas. Last week my jaw/ear starting hurting. Went to doc and he said fluid in my ear and thought my jaw pain was from my tmj, which I have grinded my teeth at night since I lived at home. Had jaw pain and headaches for about a week. Got my hida scan last week and found out I have gallblader disease and it has to come out. Two nights ago while trying to go to sleep, my leg would jerk everytime I was just about to fall asleep. Now to my question. In the last week, I have had 3-4 episodes where my heart starts racing, I start sweating, I get tingly/light headed, tingling/itchy scalp, and just get an overall feeling of panic. I had a bad episode last night, went to er, had chest xray, ekg, and bloodwork done. Doc said everything was "perfect". Well while I was waiting I started getting upper left chest pains and told him about it, he thought it was due to my gallbladder disease/ulcer problems or maybe a muscle. Last night I started getting pains behind my left shoulder, when I realized it I started having shortness of breath and my left arm, leg, and cheek started tingling. I realized what was happening, sat down, took some deep breaths, and it all went away in a matter of minutes. I am just wondering if this sounds like panic/anxiety attacks. Also, after the first two attacks I had I went to my gp and he gave me a prescription for nirivam which is zanax from what I have read. Also while I was talking to the doc, I felt the need to cry, my eyes started watering and everything. That whole day when I would talk to anyone, I just felt like crying, I wasn't sad or upset about anything, just felt like crying. I am thinking I may have some kind of anxiety/depression disorder, my uncle on my mother's side was bi-polar and comitted suicide a few years back, I also had an uncle on my father's side who comitted suicide last year, and my mother, brother, and sister all have been on anti-depressants for years.

That sounds like an anxiety attack to me, especially since you started to breath properly and it went away. And if all of your family is on antidepressants, there is a good chance you could have the same thing they do.
