Are they any others here who have been diagnosed with this that do have problems, i.E. Constipation, bloating, etc.?

If so how do you manage it.?

Redundant Colon Or Colon Redundancy
A little surprised at no replies but possibly this is an afflection of people more in their senior age.

I find as stated an earler post that this combined with diverticulosis is becoming a bit stressful and restrictive so far as activities.

However see my family physician thursday

I discovered I have a redundant colon when I had a diverticulitis burst close to my appendix. (my descending colon starts on the right side, "flops" over to the right side then down)

the doctor is going to remove a bit of this "floppy" colon as soon as I am completley recovered.

I had bloating/constipation & gas until I was put on a very restrictive diet to help my perforated colon recover.

I'm not looking forward to the surgery, but am definitely looking forward to having a normal digestive tract - heh.

Colon Redundancy
Thanks for reply.

At this time for me anyway an operation is not recommended unless I were to get bleeding or severe diverticulitis. This type of surgery is not as common in canada,

i think my colon may have got moved around a bit after gall bladder surgery.

Good luck to you. I have yet to figure out a diet that works. Of course I do take a fibre supplement daily.

Colon Resection
To finish up my story - I had the colon resection - 5 hours on the table for the doctor to undo all of the adhesions that happened because of the burst diverticulitis I had in november.

No more bloating, cramps, or constapation. (the high fibre diet finally works for me :))

i feel better now than I have in years - it's so weird to feel "normal" as far as my digestive system goes.

Good luck to you and hope your solution is less painful than mine was - heh.
