Q: Birth Control: Acne And Depression

I began to take ortho tri-cyclen lo 3 months ago this sunday. When I had my consultation, I told my doctor that I had problems with depression when I had previously taken the pill. For this reason, she prescribed me something with a lower dose of hormones. It has worked out very well. I have only had one side effect...Acne.

So, I was wondering if a similar pill exists (low hormone dosage) that has been proven to help acne as well rather than worsen it.

Thanks

Ortho tri cyclen is considered great for dealing with acne. You should consult your doc to find out what else may help you, because normally otc and otc lo are good for acne..

I've had the same problem with acne on ortho lo. Does it fluctuate for you? It seems to get better at certain times of the month, then worse the next week or so.

Well, it had been consistently bad until about a week ago when I thought it was finally beginning to clear up. I was trying nature's cure b/c the proactiv stopped working when I went on the pill. I thought that the switch was working but just two nites ago my face went crazy again. It's in a concentrated area. I'm not getting any on my forehead at all which is unusual because I have bangs and would think that would be the first place i'd get them. I'm also not experiencing any body acne. It's just on the lower half of the face...Mostly on the chin and right below the cheek bones.
