Ok, so this is the story. I just started on bc like a month and a half ago. My partner and I have had unprotected sex since I started. I have missed a couple and then would take them the next day. I missed three in a row and then I took 2 one day and 2 the next day, like it says you're supposed to. On the first day that I took 2 I got my period, which I wasn't supposed to get for another 2 1/2 weeks. What is up with that??? I have had sever cramping since I got my period and the cramping wont go away. I went to my doctor, but he just gave me some naproxin, or something liek that, to take for the cramps. I have taken them and they dont do anything... What should I do? I am so lost. My doc is no help because he doenst really believe me in what is going on. I need soem direction. Do I need to get a pregnancy test or what? I am so confused... I have been on birth control before and this has never happened. I also feel sick now.

Okay, calm down :)
when you miss that many pills your body freaks out a little due to the hormone nosedive, and that can cause bleeding.
****wait 7 days to have unprotected sex, because you missed three you have compromised your protection. If you had unprotected sex get the morning after pill, and continue taking your birth control like you are supposed to. It will be effective again after 7 days of "proper" use, which is not missing a day.

If you were on the pill and only missed three days it is highly unlikely that you are pregnant. It takes 7-10 days for an egg to implant into your uterus after you ovulate, and on the pill you do not ovulate. It is doubtful missing three pills in one week will make you pregnant that week. The only way you could be pregnant is if you ovulated weeks ago, but since you are on the pill it is doubtful. Main thing, do not have unprotected sex until you have taken the pill for 7 days. It is normal to be crampy ect.. Your body just went through hormone nosedive, then you add more hormones.

Just a helpful hint, since you have trouble remembering to take your pill...
When I was on bc pills, I used the calendar in my cell phone and set an alarm to go off every day when I had to take my pill. So if you have a cell phone, try doing that.

Ok the I think if you are forgetting yo take your pill like kyour suppose to I would def. Think about doing the patch or shot. B ecause if you continue to take the pills like you are now wierd things are going to continue to happen. It is unheathy for your body the way things are going now. If you arnt interested in switching forms of bc try what my fiance did for me. I would occationally miss a pill so he set an alarm on my cell to go off everyday at the same time and I would just keep the pills in my purse with my phone. Now no matter where im at I can take my pill at the same time everyday. Hope this helps

Thank you for your advice. I would be on the patch if it didnt cost so much money. I cannot afford it. I tried that because I have a hard time remembering. But I was told to set the alarm... Thank you, again.

not sure either
Is the bleeding not your period? I just did the same thing.. missed 3 in a row and started bleedign on the third day. Is is much heavier than a normal period. My doctor told me to take 2 and then just one every other day to finish the pack and get back on my schedule. She said I wasn't protected this month though. How long will I bleed is this a period?
