Q: Quit Smoking! Cigarette Dreams?!

I just quit smoking cigarettes today, right now I feel very in control and very goal orriented to stop. I also and in the process of joining a gym in hopes to get addicted to something healthy instead of something harmful. I have had a lot of occuring dreams where I found myself waking up in the middle of the night thinking I had a cigarette in my bed or hand (doing it it), or scrabbling around in my sheets looking for a lit cigarette. I soon realize after I have fully woken up that it is only a dream. This has happened atleast 20 times over the last couple of months if not more. It has me more puzzled than worried. I hope with quitting the dreams will stop. I'm looking more for opinions than real scientific answers or any similar experiences with any kind of addiction or drug. I have a very addictive-compulsive personality (both parents ex-alcoholics and a whole family tree leaved with them). I wonder if this has anything to do with the dreams? I also wonder if it is just a very vivid midnight craving?

Would like to hear anykind of replies

thank you,
kword

Hi: I quit smoking 10 days ago and dream about the cigarettes every night, I don't sleep very well and I think about it 24/7. I hae the nicoderm patch but still crave the cigarette very bad. The dreams are normal, it will probably go away after a while.

Extremely eHealthy
Hi, well I havent had a cigarette for 9days and i'm coping ok. No dreams for me but about a month ago I had a chest infection and it was real bad and painful, then about a week ago I caught flu, again it went straight to my chest. I got so fed up and down and I felt so awful I threw my cigarettes away! Now I am feeling better and still dont want one. I am also trying for another baby so its all come at the right time.
Good luck to both you ladies! Stay strong hopefully we can quit together!

cig dreams
I have been quit for almost 4 months, and I still have the dreams. Even though they are extremely vivid they are less frequent than in the begining.
