I agree that it shouldn't matter to you what others think, but personally I think if you've only known a person 5 weeks and you're already engaged then yes that is moving too fast. What do you really know about a person in 5 weeks? Marriage isn't something that should be rushed into because later on you could find things out about the person that you really don't like or don't think you can live with and then you're going to be looking at divorce.

Well he didn't give you enough back ground information!!!!! Thats why!!! You see we have known each other on again off again since we were in 6th grade. We have always been acquantinces, and I knew his brother in high school and his best friend!

Then we really started hanging out more alone timeish probably ten weeks ago but he didn't tell me he liked me and wanted to further our relationship until 5 weeks ago!

So you see it's not like woah fast!

My bf and I have been together for almost a month but have been friends for longer/i think while we were friends I had some time to get to knoe him and now I am falling or I am in love with him but I would not think about engagment for a while,probably a year or so.
