About a week ago, my girlfriend and I had sex and the condom broke. About 20 hours after that happened, she took ebc. About a week later, she said she had started her period early and she isn't suppose to start her period until the first of the month. She had also complained about some soreness in the vaginal area. Is there anything else that could be causing the bleeding or did the ebc fail??

Ecp can and does cause that "early period". Ecp is progestin, and progestins cause irregularity in the cycle that they were taken in. Yes it is normal that she did bleed a week later, and a good sign. You seem like a good b/f to help her do this. Can she get on regular birth control?
