Hi! I just started ortho tri cyclen lo, and it says to be protected for the first 7 days, and I started on sunday and had unprotected sex on a saturday, do you think I am protected, even though it hadn't been sunday to sunday?

Okay, did you start the pill while you are on your period? If you start the pill while you are on your period you are protected immediately, but if you start it any other time it does take 7 days. This is a tough issue because many docs say 6 days is not a big deal, and some people dispute this. Contact your doc and see what he/she says. If you had unprotected sex yesterday (saturday) and your 7th day would be (sunday) today, then you could always get morning after pill tommorow. But you would keep taking your regular pill as usual.

Same Question
Hi
i have the same exact question. I got period on the 20th of dec. Started the pill on the 25th, did the pill go into effect immediately? Or did it go into effect the next 7days??

Also, is it often that someone could get pregnant in their very first month of bc. I took it everyday on the same time and now am waiting for my period, I finished my last pill on sat and today is monday..I am so nervous waiting for it to come.

Please advise...Thank you so much..
