I am 35 weeks pregnant soon to be 36..And my sister who was not due until the end of march had her baby on wednesday night. She is 17, and I wanted to be there for her. Which now I think was a huge mistake since I seen everything and am now very scared. I am 22 yrs old and this is also my first pregnancy. Anyhow everytime the doctor would come into check her to see if she had dialated anymore her rear end would literally come up off the bed and she would scream in pain...Is this normal? When they check you is it really that painful? I am naive to everything with pregnancy so I watch all of the baby shows for comfort and information and during labor on all of these shows the woman never seemed to be bothered a whole lot while being checked..So I was just curious..Please write back with any expierences to this. My sister was 10 weeks preterm..So do you think her labor was different than a normal pregnancy?

Labor is painful but being checked for dilation shouldnt be its possible she could have had an infection, I know its scary to think about even when your having your second you question things again.

Im due in 19 days and as much as im ready im terrified about certain parts cause although it my second it has been a whole different pregnancy this time round. Honestly dont worry too much if your in alot of pain ask the dr to stop or to give pain meds its possible though that because of her going throu preterm labor she could have been more sensitive. Im not a dr but I would speak with your ob-gyn because I was told that being checked shouldnt hurt when I had elisa cause like you I heard or saw stuff that just scared me senseless only to find out it wasnt that bad.

If you want to talk send me a message

Thank you for replying. I am just scared to death now. I have not had a very good pregnancy at all. I am sick all of the time. The nausea is driving me nuts and tonight I have the worst headache in the world. It is 2:23 in the morning here and I am still awake with the pain. If it is still hanging around in the morning I am going to call my doctor. Again thanks for writing me back and good luck on your pregnancy! =) tiffany
