Q: How Much Is Too Much??? Vitamin B1 And Fish Oil...

I just started taking vitamins that my doc recommended, but she didn't tell me how much I should take. She said to take vitamin b1, so I got a bottle, but it says each tablet is 100mg and is 6667% of your daily value. But I just read that women only need 1.1 mg of it. Is there a side effect of taking too much???

Also I heard fish oil was good for your circulation so I just began taking that, but I also heard that taking it can cause blood to become too thin. Does anyone know?

Does anyone know any vitamins that have negative side effects from taking too much??

That b1 supplement is rediculously high. I am not aware of too many problems from too much b1 because it is water soluable but you need to clear it with your doc.

As far as fish oil goes, don't take it. Eat fish and a good diet too and you wont need the omega acids in a capsule. The fish oil will also make you taste fish all the time (rotten) and it can make you smell offensive as well. If you want to take a capsule that is like fish oil but isn't, take the enfamil expecta lipil capsules. They are designed for pregnant and nursing moms but that has the nutrients you are after without the aftertaste and smell of fish oil caps and also no mercury and lead and other toxins that can be in "natural" fish oil caps.
