What causes back left shoulder pain with pain down my left arm? This usually only happens when I am in bed at night. When I get up it the pain will go away within 30 minutes. I have degenerative disc disease. Could this have anything to do with this? Also I have right thigh pain which is on the side. I had bursitis there according to my doctor so I took physical therapy which didn't work. Do you have any answers. Also have right buttock pain, which has been there for years. I took back pain therapy also after having surgery on l4-l5 a couple of years ago. I just wish I knew what to do. My doctor knows all of this, but I guess they don't know what to do. Help!!!!!

I too have ddd and djd(arthritis), along with other medical situations my pain is pretty much all over, you might think of asking your Dr. About a pain specialist. Do you sleep o.K, have you tried to change positions while sleeping? Have they done mri's of the neck, you might have a pinched nerve. I am no Dr. But I too have been thru a lot with these dr's. It sounds like you too have a lot of medical problems.
Good luck!
Keep in touch.

Thank you sandy,
yes I have tried different positions but they don't help. I don't get much sleep at night. I just wished I knew what to do. They have taken mri's on my back but not on my neck.

The best thing to do when you are not being paid attention to at your doctors office is to change to another doc.

Hopefully your family doctor will refer you to a pain management clinic or to an orthopedic surgeon and allow you to be given a fair shake.

If you are in pain, it is illegal for them to ignore and not treat you! As a patient that is paying for a service which is very technical you should expect to be treated. If you are ignored, you always have the right to invoke your rights through your individual or state funded insurance company.

It really makes me mad when someone is just simply left in pain and told to go home and rest, it will get better. Its not and it wont until you are properly treated.

Good luck,
brian
