Q: Getting Pregnant Question
asked by: DoctorQuestion on January 13th, 2006
I am sure that I am pregnant but i am too nervous to take a test yet, i have been trying to conceive for almost 8 months now and am worried that something may be wrong. In the month of december I had a delayed period (normally I have my period on the 23rd of every month) however this time I did not come on until 26th, naturally I just assumed I was pregnant and was gutted when I did come on. It was a short period, lasting only 3 days and was more painful than ususal. My husband and I continued to try to conceive in the beginning of Jan and I am waiting to take a test now. I definitly have some symptoms of pregnancy, swollen painful breats, feeling extremely tired, my skin has become really greasy and I have more spots than usual, and I am bloated, especially in the evening, I look pregnant.
Is it possible that I may be pregnant from the december date? and if im pregnant from the Jan one would the symptoms I have described show up so early? we have one daughter already and she is 21months so perhaps Im assuming that it will be easy to get pregnant like it was with her, I am desperate to have another baby so any advice would really put my mind at rest. Thank you

There is only one way to solve the dilemma: TAKE A PREGNANCY TEST! If you conceived in December, your test would be positive and all the symptoms you've described would be explained. If you conceived in January, wait 1-2 days for a pregnancy test to become positive. Pregnancy symptoms that you have experienced may also be the result of the great wish you have to become pregnant... so we can’t count on them.
