Lbp Following a Lumbar Puncture Posted: 01-13-06 01:19am
I was recently in the hospital with viral
meningitis. They attempted over 15 times
to do a spinal tap which was
excruschiating, and finally sent me to
another hospital where they could perform
it by following an x-ray. That time took
them three time. My labs came back with
3100 rbc in in spinal fluid and the number
of rbc only increased by the 4th tube. I
was discharged (because I asked to be) 2
days later. I have since then been
deterioting. My back pain is
unbelieveable I can no longer sleep
becuase of it, my legs constantly twitch
when I am relaxed, and I no longer can
climb stairs without me legs going numb.
I was sent for an mri fora possible
epidural abcess or hematome, but my mri
has yet to been looked at. I am going
down hill fast and would like some advise
please.

You need to get to a hospital fast. If
there is a neighboring town or a big city
near you, go to one that you havent
already been butcherd at!
If you have an abcess in your spinal
column, it is very serious and you should
never, ever have been discharged! That is
life threatening and also if it doesnt
kill you, it can and likly will severly
disable you!
I am not a doctor but I have seen the
affects of spine infections on several
people and there is almost nothing that
could be that bad! One of the guys I had
spoken with was on his 14th surgery to try
and remove infection and also fixate more
adjacent disc levels that had been
infected.
Take this serious, dont wait around to see
what happens.
