Could I have asthma?

I am the drum major at my high school. And today, when we were taking the band around the field…

my throat became dry. I had a metallic taste in my mouth. I could not breathe. It felt as though a belt had been tied around my chest and neck. I had to suppress coughing…which lead to wheezing. I became extremely dizzy and almost passed out. I could not concentrate on anything – except that I could not breathe. And we were only outside for about a half hour!

Right now, I am just really tired.

It was cold…and I do have allergies…and similar attacks have happened before…

what do you think? Should I get tested?

Well I could not tell you if you have asthma or not since I am a nurse and not a doctor. But I will advise you to see your doctor. Just so you know, and he/she is aware.
I know it is awful running to the doctor all the time but that is what they are trained for. Maybe it is something minor that can be fixed.
I do not know what would cause the metalic taste... I mean they say if you have a metalic taste it could be a few things which I do not think is your case. But I would still go check it out.

Will not hurt to ask.
Please let me know how you make out, I am curious as well.
Take care of yourself.
