Does anyone know what percent of type ii diabetes patients are on lantus (insulin glargine)? I'm researching this for a project.

Some Info
Lantus is so new - we weren't forced to use lantus
until lente was taken off the market last oct.

.

I was taking 15 units of lente 600am
and 19 units of lente 1000pm
.

But now take 11 units of lantus 600am
and 16 units of lantus 800pm
.

Lantus lasts a bit longer than lente, and is a bit
stronger. I (personally) think its potency is not
so delicate as lente , and life-span lasts longer.

.

I was a pump user 6 years - and can get pretty
close to same blood sugars on dose / times above
on lantus. I needed to 2-3 units of nph 1000pm
(in different location than my lente shot, to have
reasonable bloodsugars at 400-600am.

.

This is just my 2 cents, bill11931
