Just curious about what anyone else has experienced with their thyroid condition - how much weight gain and how did you deal with it? My first month and a half out of the hospital I gained 65 pounds, went back to work (stable hand - very physical job) and didn't lose a pound, then 6 months later suddenly dropped 20 pounds for no reason. At one point I tried to go on a diet - cut calories big - time (less than 1,000 calories per day) and ended up gaining 1 - 1.5 pounds per day. I put up with it for a week and a half, then started eating whatever , whenever, and as much as I felt like and lost the weight I had gained on the diet. Has anyone else ever experienced this? Very annoying! Oh well! Periods are annoying too - it used to be 29 days every month - now it's anywhere from 20 - 35 days! Arggg!

Weight gain - Hypothyroid
yep, that sounds about right with Hypothyroidism. I´ve fought for 10yrs to bring my weight back under control. Diet or exercise doesn´t have much impact! I do not diet but eat healthly and exercise with swimming & yoga .. I do not gain weight as easily now but have great trouble losing it. What I do find very strange .. if I´m ill and not eating I gain pounds until I recover!!! Sorry to hear about the period, have you spoken to the Doc. My doc altered my meds and my periods are now back to 10 days or less!
