Start whenever you want. I wouldn't buy
things like formula and stuff though
because I don't know about expiration and
stuff.
When I find out i'm preg I will start
right away with things like bottles,
spoons, bibs, the big stuff like bed,
room, etc because i'll want to be
prepared. Also if you have the money now
you should do it. Who knows what will
happen until you deliver, and whether or
not you'll have the money to buy stuff.
I'm just one of the freak-o people that
likes to be really prepared. Hee hee.

I will give you some great advice...Dont
just buy newborn things...I did that and
my son didnt even get to wear all of
them....I would get a variety of
sizes...And dont take the tags off and
wash them until you know for sure that the
babys going to wear them...Cause you can
always take them back.....As for when to
start buying...Anytime...I did through out
my pregnancy...Just whenever I went
shopping and I saw something I liked I
would buy it....Diapers, bottles, bottle
liners, wipes, rash medicines...Things I
usually go through quickly...Those are
things I would bundle up on...

My Advice... Posted: 01-13-06 02:07am
U could start preparing the baby room,
like painting, redesigning or changing the
arrangment of the furnitures in the baby
room, purchasing the baby cot and
mattress, pram, car seat for baby like
when u r atleast 6 to 7 months pregnant.
Meanwhile, from the first month to the 6th
or 7th month, keep some money aside for
the baby in a savings a/c or a little
piggy bank...
When u r in the 7th to 8th month, u can
get the clothings (not too many as the
baby grows fast in the first year),
bottles, diapers, wipes, bips, napkins,
socks, shoes, caps, nightwears, towels,
tubs for bath, soap, shampoos,
moisturizers, creams.
When u r in the 8th to 9th month, u can
get the milk powders, medicines for rash,
fever, cough, nail-cliper and most
importantly things that u will need to
bring to the hospital for ur delivery.
In the 9th to 10th month, relax and enjoy
the precious moments waiting for ur angel
to be born. Go for a facial, massage,
foot theraphy and get urself pampered to
endure the painful labour.
Hope this helps u in enjoying the months
ahead. Good luck!

I would tend to agree with the ladies that
suggest waiting until you are in the last
trimester to go out and buy some stuff.
Also agree with the one that suggests
registering for 0-12 month clothes. We
have loads of 0-3 month and loads of 6-12
but little 3-6 month stuff.
I painted the babys room at about 6 months
and after the showers we went and picked
up the essentials that we did not get but
we knew we needed right away. Most of our
family picked up stuff as they visited
also, they knew what we did not get and
would sneak in a visit and gifts would
just appear.
As far as formula, do not buy any until
you know wether or not your little one is
lactose or milk protien allergic. You
cannot return formulas and you dont want
to have a stock of expensive stuff for no
reason. As far as diapers go, we have
used the pampers swaddlers about 99% of
the time but we did get some others for
gifts at the shower and we tried them and
none compare to pampers. White cloud, and
even the pampers baby-dry are horrible!
The swaddlers are very absorbant and they
stretch to fit very well. We have not
tried huggies yet but by joining all of
the baby stuff websites, they send loads
of coupons and samples and so we will be
buying a pack of huggies since I have a
$2.00 coupon and they are on sale at kmart
this week.
Anyway, good luck

Hey here are some other things you may
want to pick up
~sanitary pads (cotton) no tampons (you
bleed for about 3-6 wks after)
~grooming kit (baby nailcutter etc) there
bloody nails grow so fast
~tempra/tylenol (fever)and oval for gas
becarful with diapers, some babies are
sensitive to smells and have problems with
pampers or no name brands, as for formula
register with formula companies to see if
you can get a free sample to try your baby
on. Some babies also have problems with
wipes so get alot of faceclothes just in
case, teething rings are miracles and my
daughter loved baby einstein movies (they
sell them at toysrus) for about 16$
canadian.

Today we bought a basinet. I am four
months I think but it was a sale we could
not pass up. Its from sears. Its an
simplicity™ 4-in-1 bassinet. Its
regular price is 169 and we got it taxes
in for 109.
