Q: Hospital Bill Audit/ Overpayment Recovery????

Does anyone know a company that does hba and/or overpayment recovery? I was uninsured at the time I went to the e.R. And the costs are outrageous and they put stuff on there I didn't think made sense, but those bills are so hard to read I couldn't know for sure. Well i'm only 20 years old and being young and dumb I didn't know you could audit bills, so I paid the outrageous bill, but now I read that you can have someone check it out and if things were wrong you can get money back. I also have another bill where the doc charged almost $800 for no more than 15 minutes of just talking to me, but I didn't pay that one yet. Any help would be appreciated!

Hospital Payment Recovery
The service you are referring to is something I provide. I am called a claims assistance professional.
Claims assistance professionals can audit your bills. But it isnt cheap and there is no guarantee a recovery can be made.
Unfortunately for you, without health insurance you are at the mercy of what a physician charges. However you can find out what codes he would have used if he were billing to an insurance company and ask them if they would accept the same payment that the insurance company would have made. Sometimes this could be a huge decrease in the bill.
With the hospital charges, yes you may have been overbilled. They may have charged for procedures or items that should have been inclusive.
If you care to leave your contact info, I will help.
