Hey and congrats. I had the same problem, this is also my first pregnancy. I called the Dr. To make sure everything was o.K. And she said it was normal as long as its not all day and there is no bleeding. I'm 17 wks and still occasionaly get cramps...Especially shooting cramps. Doc says its the stretching that causes it. If you're really worried call your obgyn. Good luck

Hey brittany-

this is my 1st pregnancy as well. I am 8 1/2 weeks and still experience cramps everyday. It is normal as long as there is no blood. They can vary in intesity too. My friend thought she was having a miscarriage her cramps hurt so bad. She got an ultrasound and everything was fine. Her baby is 6 months old now. Try not to worry

I did not know I was pregnant (our 1st too) until around 4-5 weeks, I also had these type of cramps. I am now almost 12 weeks and they have pretty much stopped. What the other folks have said are some of the same things I have heard. Lots of people have them, don't worry. Again, unless bleeding starts, and even then that can be normal, some women have a normal period while pregnant and other bleeding that is normal.

It's so confusing, isn't it? There are so many things that could be warning signs but then again those things are seen in normal pregnancies too. Ahhhh :-), well hang in there.

I am 6 weeks pregnancy and have cramps almost every day. I spoke to my doctor and she assured me it was normal. It could be gas or your uterus expanding. I was worried in the beginning too...But am now used to it. They seem to be subsiding everyday.

Oh yeah...I have absolutely no morning sickness. Is this normal or am I just lucky?

Especially eHealthy
When I was about 3 1/2 months...I got the shooting cramps that woke me up out of a dead sleep. I went to the potty and tinkled and went back to bed. I thought that maybe that would make it go away. As soon as I laid back down they started again. So I went back to the bathroom and they intensified..To the point where I thought it was labor...I couldn't breath it hurt soo bad. I stood up to grab a towel to bite on because I didn't want to make any noises to wake the family up and there was a large movement in my gut...

Girlll..No sooner did I sit back down did I take the best hot crap of my life!!! I call it the best because the pains went away immedietly!!! I ate like 2 dozen hot tamales that night and my stomch couldn't handle the cornstarch!! Lol...I know this is tmi but it's more than likely dooky cramps!! Haha...I was soo relieved when I went back in the bed.

I woke my fiance up and told him that I was having shooting pains and it wount up being poop.....

Good luck....
Sarah

Gas
Same thing happend to me... The best crap I ever took as well. When it happend to me I really freaked out. Same with cramping... It was only gas. I'm now 10 weeks and the cramping has stopped except when I get up too fast.
Lets all hang in there.

Re: Cramping..
Hi brittany and congrats! My name is gillian and I too am about 5 weeks with my first and also have these on and off cramps. Mine come without warning day or night but most so far have been in the night - also waking me up, and the weird thing is that they send me to the bathroom with really bad cold chills and I have to poop before I feel better. I did some research online and found that its normal as its just the uterus getting ready for the baby. So don't be scared. When I found out that other women go through this too it made it more bearable. So hang in there girl!
