I have mono, and I know that the doc. Says I should'nt do any activities or heavy lifting for about 4 weeks. For the last year iv been bodybuilding and I dont want all my hard work to go to waste while I sit around and do nothing. No physical activity for four weeks will ruin me, i'll look like a vegi. The other thing is I generally eat alot, which wont help now. What am I suppost to do during this time?

Hi,

my doctor told me that people with mono can still do light weight lifting, but not heavy lifting, because you don't want to rupture your spleen. If I were you, I would just do some light cardio and light lifting until you are better. Your body will "let you know" when to stop. Anyway, only 10% of people with mono have enlargened spleens.

Are you the one who asked .Dr a question--if you are I would make sure the .Dr checks out your spleen. Because there is a chance of damage there with mono. And the swollen belly could be a sign of the spleen having damage. And no contact sport--no over exerting yourself.
