You may really have worms. I was diagnosed along with my daughter with worms under the skin. They are very, very tiny! Go to your doctor! They are calling what we have a typer of Threadworm. Please post this on here, I don't know how to but it sounds like a lot of people need to hear this information. Yes there are "very real" worms that can live under your skin. You needd to see an Infectious Disease doctor. One who knows parasites! Good Luck!

Austrailia is full of quacks. Like "Dr." Davidson above who canot spell psychiatrist or most any other English word. These types are dangerous because he might have someone actually join him in his delusory fantasies.

Hi. I am having similar symptoms. I thought it was possibly a blood clot. It seemed like a slight itch in various parts of my body, mostly in the lymph system. Recently I have had increasing symptoms in my head. After working on the computer for 15 hours I would walk up the stairs and it would feel like my forehead walked into a spiderweb but it was more numbing. I can feel the veins near my eyes and several places in my head. They always appear in the exact same places. I have also experienced my left pinky finger becoming totally numb while lying down. I am also really sensitive to cold damp weather. I am from aspen and the cold dry weather does effect me, just the humid cold. I thought a while back a may have had worms living in Mexico because of itching and crawling sensations in my anus, mostly at night when about asleep. I don't know what is going on, but I don't have insurance yet and I'm trying to wait until I get it, as if it a serious problem I don't have money for treatment.

I hope it is stress and anxiety related, but I do not feel either except for the fact that thinking I may have something that could be life threatening does cause anxiety.

The wost part of it was the numbness in my head. I was a pretty heavy weed smoker, and that seemed to make it worse. I have since quit because of the symptoms.

In parts of my head it still feels numb and tingling. I could, like some others on here, visualize blood clots or something circulating through my body.

For example, I would feel an itch on my arm, and I would see that it is right exactly where a vein is. I felt this in my arm pits, legs, head, around the eyebrows and bridge my nose.

I have also had pain in my heart, and also on my right upper lung side, as well as pain in my left arm. I work on the computer for 12-15 hour days, which I thought may be related to the typing but these are either dull pains or itching/tingling sensations that usually move or go away when applying pressure to them and they come and go quickly. One night, I was having an anxiety attach and almost went to the ER. I could feel stronger sensations in my veins, including in my finger tips and toes that was much more intense and did not go away by putting pressure or scratching.

I'm pretty sure it's something physical, but I do not know much about the neurological system. I would imagine that the symptoms would come and go more if it was anxiety related, but they are starting to seem more and more consistent, and are there every day.

I drank an insane amount of red bull at work and don't know if that could factor into the equation along with smoking.

I sure do with that the word "pre-existing condition" didn't exist and that for MRI and CT scans that just use electricity weren't so absurdly priced.

Does this sound like anyone else?

i have read quite a lot of the posts on this subject and can relate to only a few but would love if someone could possibly shed some light on my problem, its not a skin crawling or itchy thing fo rme at all, i dont get twitches as alot have described but i get a feeling that goes from between the left collorbone and the 1st rib under that up through my chest into my neck and stops what seems to be next to my windpipe, then i get it in my shoulder front and back an back of neck, it feels as tho something too big for my veins is being pulled through them as strange as it sounds, my chest also feels abit sore past few days but iv been getting the vein thing for a few weeks now, and the one in back of my neck hurts quite a bit, the others are a more uncomfortable feeling, it is quite scary, could anyone shed some light on this??? x

Not sure she's sick right now so not bugging her. However always described it as skin crawling like bugs all over her and its definetely stress related. If it is adrenal related blood tests won't help you. You will need to seek a naturopath and get saliva, urin tests. Adrenal problems are patently ignored by western medicine however a few doctors will recommend you seek alt care as they know their weak point which is how she found out. Good luck to all!

hi ppl!i too am gad to hear that i am not alone in this matter. i had the feeling of something crawling under my skin, numbness in my fingers and toes, twitching nerves or muscles and it scared the living crap out of me cause i didnt know what was wrong. i was always coming up with internet searches thinking i had als disease cause my muscles felt weak. it also brought up searches of pinched nerves. i couldnt sleep at night my legs ad arms fell asleep very easily. but poeple let me tell you something i decided to try something, anything and anyone who would see me and help me with this problem. so what i did was i went to a chiropractor and he popped my back and in two places and also in my neck and when i got home and the crawling of the skin, the numbness and the weakning of the muscles seased all in a matter of hours. but the twitching of the nerves/muscles still continues and im hoping its beacuse i was so stressed from this other stuff.

creepy-crawlies under\walking-on skin
Wow, my symptoms seem laughable compared all of y'alls..

What I sometimes experience is an acute tingly sensation on the surface of my skin, perceived like spiders or some other insect crawling on me, most often on my legs when I'm waring pants or all over my back--though on occasion somewhere not clad. The sensation is very sudden; sometimes painful like being bit, sometimes more exotic--though always disturbing. This happens more frequently at night.
The fact that my apartment has bedbugs(literally bed-bugs, the existence of which I have known for only a couple months when folks here started mentioned getting bit.. I live in Cincy, btw) and I have seen them crawling on me before doesn't help put my nerves at ease,, lol. I wash my sheets every Wednesday, after the bedbug-sprayers come through.
I also sometime I get a sudden (and I mean BAM! instant) itch on my foot, which I suppose is due merely to dead skin.

Also, I have before expereiencd the 'vein bubbly' feeling, like a clot or some oblong object, trying to squeeze through my vein.

The freak-out part about it is that these sensations usually happen allofasudden, in one particular place (or collection of areas), which makes distinguishing between something actual and the imagined, nigh impossible. >__<

Yes. it is so good to know im not alone.
I have these feelings as if a snake is moving through my veins or arteries in my arms.please help.

I have severe and sudden weight loss. numbness, tingling and unvoluntary jerks and spasms in muscles. especially in leg area above nees and below waist. my bum goes numb Im scared. i havde developed very bad night sweat and severe and sudden strength loss. I don't know what is happening to me. I also experience pain in joints in my hands and ankles, also i have needles being pricked in my cheeks. When i feel a small part on my face i can lituraly feel that nerve all the through and around my face. I am desperate and don't know what to do. I drop thing more often than i used to. For example holding just a pen or key, very light, firm in my hand (or so i thought), just slips through and drops. My lips closed, firmly ( or so i thought) i notice i'm dribbling.

I have done research and decided it could be either one of two things.

1) diabetes.

The reason i say this is tingling, numbness and spasms of nerves are caused by nerve damage. And it is known that diabetes if undiagnosed can lead to nerve damage.

2)Or some kind of neurological disease. (is there such thing as muscle or nerve cancer. (i really don't know what to do).

Or maybe im over reacting an dover sensitive. Oh yeah and i catch my hands chaking slightly, when i am holding a pen or sinlge sheet of paper i can clearly see it shake. I've thought this is due to the muscle weakness.

Please if anyone has any thoughs or can forward this to a doctor. please post a reply.

hiya lukin4help, reading your post your symptoms can definitely be caused by diabetes, however diabetes does come with more typically common symptoms before its gets as severe as your explaining your symptoms are, have you noticed yourself needing to urinate more frequently than usual? an unusual constant thirst? blurred vision? dry mouth? even skin itching and leg pain? are you taking any medications at the minute as there are prescription drugs that can cause all of your symptoms? hope ur ok x

I have no illnesses, have always been healthy. I'm not on mediacation and have never injured my back. I have not had an increase in urination.

Another symptom is that sometimes i feel i am having a heart attack, like my heart is going to explode. Vey sudden, comes and goes. I am completely calm when it happens.

Diane, what exactly was your nerve related diagnosis and what was the cause of you don't mind me asking.

im not sure what to suggest hun, my nerve trouble followed an accident i had at work, actually took 8 years to diagnose by a docter and actually treat as my doctor kept dismissing it saying there was nothing wrong, i had to research it on the internet and say look i think this is the problem can you check, and when they finally did they saw i was right, i had a slipped disk basically, a disk in the middle of my lower back was bulging out compressing the sciatic nerve, now the sciatic nerve ( im sure u already know this so im sorry if it sounds like im trying to teach you lol ) is a huge nerve running right through from underneighth the pelivs next to the spine, right through the buttocks an down into the foot, they say with sciatica you only get it in one side mainly but i had it most times it was bad in both legs and my genitalia and buttocks would go numb, i would get weakness etc and eventually once theyd discovered that it was infact sciatica caused by the nerve compression from the bulging disk, i was sent to a pysiotherapist, now, a few months ago i actually experienced a shock like pain, its very difficult to describe but if i could say it was like when you bump your funny bone, the kind of tingly nasty pain you experience from that, i got this from the same area i had this bulging disk except it went straight from there upwards rather than down through my legs, it went all the way up through into my face and my face began to tingle, now i only had this happen a few times but a doctor did explain to me that it could be a pinched nerve! your problem does very much sound like some kind of nerve trouble x

Night sweats and crawling skin
Hello all my name is Paul, and i also have the same kind of events occuring with myself. The only difference with me is that at night i get so hot i have to go out side for a half an hour to get cold. If i do not than all night long i twitch, almost convulse, at times. The feeling of something under my skin moving is so unberable at times i just lay there and cry i am so uncomfortable. I am seeing my doctor in a few weeks to she what she can do. My psycologist put me on something to calm the activity. All the medication did was make me sleepy and not in the best moods. If anyone has any other ideas on help please write me.

Twitching
I just started experienceing these symptoms too. It's driving me nuts; like I can't sit still.
I have recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Myofascial Pain Syndrome and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I first got these "twitching", skin crawling feeling one night and the next day. I attributed it to starting on Lyrica. I stopped taking it and the felling went away...until right now, about 4 days later.
I had an energy drink earlier, and just finished a coffee, so I am thinking it could be the caffeine? Or the caffeine causing an increase in HR, which stress would also do. Hoping it goes away. Driving me nuts! Although I did think of a new way to describe it: it feels like I have poison ivy under my skin.
