Hey, I have a pretty long history of hypochondria, but just recently after a panic attack in the very early morning after a night of heavy drinking (caused by believing I had an ulcer, due to heartburn), i've been scared that I have severe heart problems. I had palpitations years ago, and had an ekg and an echo, both normal. Then today I had an ekg and a chest x-ray, both normal. I am scheduled for an echo on monday.

Lately i've had some feelings of shortness of breath, probably not really shortness of breath, just a smothering feeling, very very instantaneous pains in my arm, neck, back, or chest. Those freak me out the most, even more than my sometimes lingering chest pains. Just a dread in my chest. I also have frequent palpitations.

I've got a severe fear of dying of a heart attack. All day long I am nervous or have some sort of fear of something. It gets worse at night because I have a fear of being alone upstairs sleeping and dying while i'm sleeping, so usually as I lay in bed, I work up my anxiety more and more. It's a terrible cycle.

I was wondering if anyone else had twitches that felt as if they were in their veins. In your arms, neck, or back. My heart also twitches sometimes, or, what feels like my heart. Probably just the chest muscles.

Does anyone else feel this? Is this all anxiety? Yeah the tests coming back normal helped, but i'm still having a tough time shaking this.

Palpitations
Hello, I read your entry and I immediately can relate to what you are experiencing. About a month ago now I had a severe attact but several ones leading up to it. I had the whole chest pain, shortness of breath, and palpitations. It got so severe that I checked myself into outpatients and had an ekg, chest xray, and bld work. Everything came back normal except my pulse was racing up to around 141 at one point.
I am on medications now that are helping wonderfully.

I just want to tell you that the palpitations go along with anxiety/panic attack. I am always fearing death and dying. I would be so scared at night that I would lay out on the couch until I passed out. Pacing floors and crying thinking I was dying. So, I know what you're talking about. Even after the tests are done you continue to wonder if you are going to die. After being on medications my pulse is around 60-70bpm and there are no palpitations. I never realized that until now.
I hope this answered some or at least one of your questions.

I swear I have experienced all of the side effects. Lol
