I am posting this not to condemn those who have had abortions but so that the ones who are thinking about it know the facts. Keep in mind this is a pursuasive essay so yes my opinions are clear....

persuasive essay on abortion
termination of pregnancy and expulsion of an embryo or of a fetus, otherwise known as an abortion. As currently as today women of any age, race or origin in the united states can have an abortion up until the day their child is born. In a brief overview I will list all types of abortion methods that are available. They include suction aspiration, dilation and curettage(d&c), dilation and evacuation(d&e), salt poisoning, prostaglandin chemical and partial birth abortion. Each one is done in a different way and are done depending on their “success” rate in that trimester.
Reasons for women having abortions are almost the same or very close to the same in every case. Reasons including, financial incapability, sour relationships with the father or they feel they are not ready. However the one “excusable” reasoning for having an abortion occurs in less than 1% of all abortions and that is in rape cases. With these pitiful reasons used millions of times a year to end the lives of innocent, helpless children it makes you question some women’s ethics. With hundreds of ways to prevent pregnancy there is no excuse for this inhumane procedure. Some think of birth control as a hassle and use abortion as their only source of a “birth control” method.
First trimester abortions are the most typical and common among pregnancy terminations. The first procedure is called suction aspiration. In this procedure the abortionist will numb and then open the cervix wide enough to stick in a small tube. Then with a suction method, twenty-nine times stronger than a home vacuum, will suck out the child and all uterine contents. The second is called dilation and curettage also known as d&c. In this procedure like the other the cervix is dilated and this time the abortionist cuts up the fetus into parts and scraps it out into a basin. How nice! These are the surgical methods their is one chemical method in the first trimester that induces a “miscarriage-like” abortion.
Second trimester abortions occur after the sixteenth week of pregnancy. The first procedure is called salt poisoning. In this method the abortionist replaces the amniotic fluid with a saline solution that burns the fetus’ flesh and suffocates them to death. The next is called dilation and evacuation or d&e. This method is repulsive! The over one pound fetus is ripped apart with scissors and a large tweezers like tool. Once it has been dismembered it is discarded in a plastic bag. Yet another method called intracardiac injections in which an amniocentesis needle is placed in the woman’s stomach and into the fetus’ heart injecting a poison that slowly kills it.
Third trimester abortions is by far the worst thing I have ever heard of in my life! The homicide is taken place after the fifth month or twenty-fifth week of pregnancy. The baby is laying there chillin’ play with its little hands when all of a sudden a big mean abortionist comes crawling inside its warm bed and grabs its little feet and pulls it out of the uterus. The tiny baby’s body is exposed, all except for his head. The abortionist then jams scissors in the base of its skull, inserts a suction and removes its brain cause the head to flatten and instantly killing the baby. This is a type of homicide no matter what bill clinton says! He is a big stupid!! He refused to ban partial birth and late term abortions, because he thinks it takes way the women’s rights! Well i’ll tell ya what! What about those babies that are almost full term?!!? A woman had a partial birth abortion at 32 weeks!!! That child could have lived on its own and gone to a happy family! As you can tell I am very much against abortion in all ways but I am very emotional when it comes to late term and partial birth abortions!
While some women have abortions as birth control, others have them one time in their life and it scars them for life. The mental anguish that accompanies abortions does not effect everyone who has them. I have someone very close to me who had an abortion at about six weeks. Even though she had it almost 19 years ago I see her cry and suffer because of it. Though I try to help, I don’t think there is anything I nor anyone can do to help her. Her word of advice to people is that you should always do what is in your heart, never do what others tell you that you should.
