To Queen Victoria:
I actually just found out about this forum. I get the scratches, but I don't remember anyone touching before I get them. I never know where they come from or how I got them, but sometimes I'd get 2-4 on one night, sometimes at different places on my body. I sometimes feel presences in places and I'm always expecting to see something at certain spots. There are other things I experience. The sleep paralysis I experience, but I don't think I've experienced the out of body experience. Another thing I experience is knowing when people have died or that they will die. This started when I was about 11 or 12 in secondary school (which will be middle school in the States). I just started saying, "what if this person's dad died and this person and this person" within a year, all 3 dads died. I was so afraid and prayed that it didn't happen because i said it. I also said that about another student and they later died, though they were sickly. since then, I have stopped saying what ifs and if I do, I spend time praying and begging God to keep them safe. I just figured maybe I am warned so that I can pray for them. Another thing is I know when people close to me or (my friends relatives) have died. I remember one saturday when I decided to not go near the phone whenever it would ring, because I knew someone had died but I didn't know who and I didn't want to be the first to hear who. I remember when my cousin in Nigeria died, I was awake at like 2a.m. (I live in the States) and I just burst out crying, really really crying in my room, for no reason for about 5/6mins straight and then stopped and went to sleep. I was sooo sad and the next day I found out that she had died, just fell down and died and it was at the same time I just burst out crying.
So now, I dread feeling sad and always stop myself from just crying...instead I pray and pray until I feel better. I am so afraid of instances, when what ifs come into my head; or when i start feeling strange; or when someone keeps popping into my head. I hear noises too in my apt and I try to convince myself its just regular building noises. I just moved to a new apt and thought I was getting a good vibe from the place, but today, as I slept with my head facing west, I felt something climb over me, not the regular paralysis, and the funny thing is that, I knew it was coming before it climbed over me. I woke up and searched around couldn't find anything, then few mins/secs later I heard something fall onto the door and a door close. I've looked around and I can't find anything...

Because of these sleep paralysis and something moving over my body, I pray every night and actually sleep with my Bible (making sure that it is touching me at all times). That is the best I can offer you. Pray and sleep with something Godly.

There are good things that I experience too, I know when I will get something, a job, pass a test, an amount of money, sometimes I know the exact amount or my passing grade.

I am not sure what is going on with me, but I feel that there is more. I feel i am unconsciously experiencing things, and I either can't remember or block them out of my mind. I feel that more will come as soon as I open up and really look, but I'm afraid of looking by myself, lol....
One good thing that has come from all this at least is that it helped push me closer to God.....

i am not good in english, but i will try to make my story in detail.. here it goes...

my problem started when i was a kid..

as i remember, my 1st experience... while sleeping.. i felt my spirit was outside my body, i saw my room.. i saw myself sleeping beside my younger sister.. when i woke up, all is same position.. sometimes, i thought my eyes is still open, and heard footsteps outside my door, then i heard someone was knocking (3 loud knocks), i open my eyes, get up my bed, open the door and there was no one.. at that time, i just smile and say.. oh i was dreaming! so embarrassed!..

when i was 1st year high school.. one night, i can't sleep... i just close my eyes... maybe 30 minutes has past, i heard someone was laughing.. i open my eyes.. no one was there.. so i thought, maybe there was someone who passed infront our house.. i closed again my eyes, i heard it again, it felt very near to my ears.. and cold.. i get up to bed, i checked inside our house.. there was no one.. then i thought.. maybe i fall to sleep, that i was just dreaming.. i went to bed again.. i closed my eyes.. just a seconds had past... i heard it again.. but i decided not to open my eyes.. the laughed was getting louder and louder.. then i saw a man, a pretty face man & i got scared when i saw he has 2 horn on his head! i tried to open my eyes, but i can't.. my whole body got numb!.. i tried to shout, but i can't.. then i succeeded moving my right foot, then my eyes open... i was so confused.. am i dreaming? did i fall to sleep?

after that experience... any places, anywhere i go.. every time i fall asleep, and heard 3x knocking at the door... i know i have a visitor... people that i don't know.. (i guess their dead people).. they were watching me... every OBE experience gets worst and worst.. they trying to pull my spirit outside my body. sometimes they sing my favorite song! (weird huh!). this February 2007, the episode was, a shadow man sitting beside me, he was singing while touching my left cheek.. i saw everything in my room, i saw my computer was still on.. my green light lamp shade was still on, i saw my partner.. she moved beside me, i felt my partner's body at my back.. i try to move... but i can't... i try and try until i succeeded moving my right foot... then i saw everything the same... my girlfriend was shocked, asked me what happened?,, i asked my partner did she move, she said yes.. then she noticed my left cheek... i had a scratch... scratch looks like came from a cat! no blood.. very red scratch that has no blood... (its hard to describe, poor english).

i know there's something wrong with me.. but im still hoping there's a medication for this...

im 31 years old and still having OBE experience... the quack doctor told me, i have a gift.. he said, every time my eyes close... my 3rd eye open.. he didn't give me an explaination... he just told me, i should talk to a psychic... to get help, and learn to handle this, he also told me, that it has no cure.. the best way is to accept the power that was given to me..

i hope someone can help me... i am scared... what if.. i have no more strenght to fight this... what will happen to me...

Funny that I found this thread. I always felt so alone with this problem because not many other people I know have had this. My doctors, therapist, and psychiatrist have all dismissed this problem and haven't tried to treat it.

It started when I was about 8 years old. I'd wake up in the middle of the night completely paralyzed. I'd always hear a buzzing sound, and I'd usually see lights. I almost always felt as if there was some menacing presence nearby, something evil near. I never knew what was causing this.

My dog used to jump on me and start licking me when I had this problem. I have absolutely no idea how she even knew I was having it, considering I didn't sweat, I didn't scream, my breathing didn't change, and my heart rate didn't change (despite being panicked).

It eventually got to the point where I'd have it every single night multiple times. I would be absolutely horror stricken to the point where I'd be scared to go to sleep.

As I got older, the experiences got more and more weird, but at the same time, I became less and less afraid of these experiences. At about age 15, it changed from being a every-night occurrence to a seasonal thing (i.e. I'd go about 3-9 weeks without a single occurance then go a few weeks with it happening nearly every night).

From age 18 till about 20, it was very minimal. I'd typically have a random two or three day period of having these problems maybe once per night, and then not have it again for months.

Over the last few months (I'm still 20 years old) it's been getting more and more weird. One time I had it last for over 10 minutes (it usually lasts 10 seconds to 2 minutes). Last night, I actually hard talking while paralyzed, which has never happened before (by this I mean talking that isn't really going on. I usually sleep with my TV on, but this talking wasn't coming from the TV or any other real source). It's getting to the point where it's really interfering with my sleep again. I'm going to talk to my therapist about this problem.

Woozie, your experiences are very similar to the way mine used to be. I haven't ever heard of another person hearing the loud buzzing sound before. Mine started around 8th grade but stopped when I was in college. I occasionally get them every now and then but just pray like crazy. I have heard voices during these episodes as well. I have also had those out of body like experiences.

I did go to a sleep clinic and had three different sleep studies. I was officially dx with mild narcolepsy. I go immediately into REM sleep (within 15 minutes or so) and fall asleep within 5 minutes. I don't really hit stage 2 and 3 sleep or at least a very small percentage of my sleep is in those two stages. That is the reason why the doctors state that I have the crazy sleep paralysis. I am actually half asleep and half awake when I go into REM sleep, which is why the dreams seem so real. Does this make sense?

I honestly still think that there is more to it. I did very similar things as Nadra did as well. It would freak me out and again, I would pray like crazy. I haven't really thought about those episodes for a few years now because I really haven't had those experiences lately.

I've had the out-of-body experience during sleep paralysis a few times, but never really thought too much of it.

i also had that experience... there was one time.. i don't know if im just imagining things or im just paranoid... i'm at the top of the mountain... i saw many people below me.... then there was a man holding a stick like i saw at the movies, moses stick ( i forgot what its called). he raises the stick and the sand raises... like in the story when moses divide the sea in the middle so that the people can pass through.. the different was, when he put down the stick, the sand ate all the people.. they died... then i wake up.. that was really weird.. after a few days.. there was a global news, tsunami.. and many people died..

I Had Another Scary Sp Experience......i'm Terrified!
Posted: 10-24-07 16:24pm

Hi there. I just began reading the posts here and I am amazed at what I see here.
It makes me feel better to know that I am not crazy or alone -- yet i dont want this thing! I am in my 30s already and this has been happening since i was 19 or so.
I have had my body flow out a few times -->> once in a very violent "shaking way -- with like a static loud buzzing sound. That was back in my college dorm in NY.
Now its more the SP moments I get -- like the one I had 4 nights ago) where I saw and felt a "body" over me... a man or some evil being.....ahhh! and then I cant even move or scream.
I find myself reading the bible more often now hoping this will help. I have read all about this "disorder" yet I believe there is more to it than we think. Who knows when they will get more done to help us -- if ever??

I think there is something evil about it...because almost each time it happens -- there is something over my body...and I sense like it has a sexual / evil interest in me....i am terrifed!!!

Weird thing was that I even heard it in the bathroom outside our bedroom....and I knew it was coming into the room before it even happened! pretty creepy -- don't u think.....its like I sensed it ! I saw myself in the bed....wearing the same clothes and yet, I was powerless....unable to do nothing.
I am not sure what it wants....and why it is that it only bothers some of us - bt not all. Anyway.....I feel like its evil, male. powerful, and its sexual interest is driivng me to the point where i dont want to fall asleep. Not even my hubby can help me --- cause u cant even make a sound Sad

Good luck to all of u who deal with this " gift" --> yeah right.

I was reading the post by Queen victoria and I totally feel bad about those events.. No one should have to go through all that.....without true help! I AM SO SORRY THAT NO ONE HAS HELPED U MUCH. WHAT A SHAME.

Thanks 4 letting me vent.....I cant tell just anyone this or they will think I am losing it! : Confused

I have experienced sleep paralysis many times. It is a sleep disorder. There is a chemical in your brain that does paralyze you whenever you go to sleep and this is a normal every-night experience for most people during the REM period of sleep (it is the same chemical that prevents you from sleepwalking while you are dreaming). From what I have read, sleep paralysis occurs basically when your REM sleep and chemicals in your brain don't sync up or turn on and off at the same time. I know it produces alot of anxiety because you are not in control of your body. What works best for me is as soon as I feel one of these episodes coming on (the first sign for me is this ringing in my ears), I try to relax myself and think reassuring thoughts (i.e. this is just a dream, I'm safe) and they I try very hard to move my arms or legs because as soon as I can move them the episode stops. It's really hard to do at first but once you realize that this is what's happening, it gets easier every time. These episodes happen to me for 2 main reasons - one being medication (the first episode I had, I was recovering from surgery and was on narcotic pain killers) and laying on my back- these episodes have NEVER happened while I am laying on my side.

I've tried sleeping on my side and it doesn't help. The other morning I was laying in bed.. on my side.. and all of a sudden I hear a loud buzzing sound, I felt like something was holding me down.. pining me down.. trying to get me to my back. I tried to fight it but failed..

Lately I've been sleeping on my stomach.. I'm not sure if its helping since I don't get sleep paralysis everynight. I get it once a month or so.

Do Not Be Afraid
Posted: 11-19-07 00:04am

There is so much fear conveyed in some of these posts. Some of the fear is a natural response to what is happening with the body and nervous system.

Some is fear of the unkown and unexplained.

Some is fueled by fascination.

If it is really true that you have had enough of these things occurring try to relax the fascination. Then understand that there is automatic fear and this will pass.

Realtive to the fear of the unexplained.

Science and medicine can only explain so much.

I believe that part of why this happens most often to teenagers and those in there twenties is that during this time there is a natural developmental awakeing of a an etheric and pshychic conection to the world.

It can also corrispond to a the beginning of a spiritual crisis in which your vibration is being lifted higher then everything around us so you end up attracting all kinds of etheric energies. I believe this is where all the lore about being tempted by demonic energies comes from. The key here is to use whatever connection to the divine you have and make a commitment to light and love, some of this is testing that will make you stronger.

It is easy to become fascinated but there are all kinds of things to become fascinated with, particularly in this very materialistic and anti-psychic culture most of us live in.

Ultimately this is a gift that wakes you up to what is greater.

Love is the most important thing!!! Affirm love. Prayer is good but don't buy into conventional religious belief and dogma.

I have passed through these kinds of events myself.

it was so strange the other morning, i was sleeping pretty sound, my husband had just woke me up to say goodbye he was going to work, and i was sleeping on my side. for some reason, something kept almost forcing me to sleep on my back. i would be on my side, and actually feel myself going back. it's never happened to me before. is it strange to anyone? or maybe it's just a fluke? i'm not sure but it made me nervous. i got up and stayed up that day

weird this is and i thought i was the only1 who got this sleep disorder ive had it about 6 times in the last twelve months and i must admit its terrifying.
its always when ive already woke up in the morning and decide i want too have another nap never at night,at 1st i thought nothing of it just a dream maybe even the second time i thought nothing.
it was the 3rd time i had it when i could here everything that was going on around me and even slightly managed too open my eyes and could see everything in the room but i could not move at all.
and while in this state a white mist was round me and i heard a ticking noise i thought this was it 4 me and felt i was slipping away but then i managed too jerk myself out of it and everything seemed normal again.
then nothing 4 about 6 months, but its happened again 3 times in the last two weeks and from what ive read about it ppl are saying things about having allusinations, but im not having nothin like that because i woke this morning my misses was next too me and i went too have another nap and it happened again while i was in this state i managed too slightly open my eyes and i saw my misses with the baby on her chest asleep and i could hear what was on tv and when i fought my way out of it and woke back up what i heard on the tv was on the tv and the baby was on my girlfriends chest asleep so i wasn't allusinating and now this as really paniced me.
although i know other ppl have this i doubt it will ease the thought of it happening again im gonna see some1 about this next week and hopefully get some imformation of what causes it, and i will post what i am told so hopefully other ppl can read it and know more about it cuz i really know what your going through in the meantime ill see u soon sleep tight ppl.
