Question I don't know if anyone has experience with this sort of thing, but I just learned from an outside source (which is fairly reliable) that one of my best friends (we just recently became so in the last 6 months) may have hiv......My question is do I tell my friend this?? At this point, i've known for 5 months and every time he mentions sex this knowledge is just sitting in the back of my mind affecting my reactions to what he tells me....Our friendship continues to grow and I honestly feel like i'm lying to him......I don't really know the best way to approach it, but I do know that I either need to tell him soon or not tell him at all (which I don't know what would be worse).....We're so compatable as friends and spend every day together almost......I don't want to lose that......But I also dont want to continue to lie to him......Any suggestions would be helpful.....Those of you who are dealing with the disease or a similar situation etc.....Any help would be greatly appreciate. Thanks.

First of all, how does this "source" know that your friend has hiv? Did he just hear it from someone else? I mean, if your friend has hiv and he has told anyone, I am sure he would have told you by now. I know I have heard that several my former friends had hiv, and it was never true. I would just say something to him. I mean, there is no point in letting this get between you two. Just tell him that you heard it and ask him if it is true. Good luck.

well you should just mention it to him and ask him about has he thought of aids at all. Tell him you don't want to be blunt and that you really hope that it won't ruin any friendship you have.
My best friend has aids... Crying or Very sad
it might even bring you closer together..He should get tested..He will need your support.
