Daughter's Symptoms Posted: 01-07-06 19:44pm
My daughter used to be a happy, outgoing,
social person until august of 2004. Then
she began having buzzing, fogginess, and
heaviness in her head. She wakes up
everyday usually shaking and with her mind
racing about 2 hours later she is
exhausted. She has lost a lot of her
memory and has developed cognitive
problems as well. She has become
withdrawn and avoids social situations
often. She has had mri's, eeg's, blood
tests and cognitive testing and the best
they can come up with is that she is
depressed. They thought she might be
having seizures but after 4 days in the
hospital on an eeg machine they don't
think it's that anymore. She had a head
injury when she was almost 4 years old so
I thought maybe it might be a tumor that
developed in that area but they couldn't
find one. She went on an anti-depressant
med for 2 days and her symptoms became
worse immediately. With what's going on
she doesn't have the energy and can't even
think clear enough to hold down a job. I
just don't know how to help her. When she
and I found this site and she saw how long
someone else had been having similar
problems, 12 years, she broke down and
cried. She wants to go to college but
everything is on hold because of her
problem. I am finding it increasingly
difficult to give her hope. If anyone
finds a solution please don't hesitate to
post the info. I will do the same.

You Can Get Better Posted: 01-08-06 19:06pm
Hi
i can relate to a good bit of what your
daughter is feeling however I know what
caused my anxiety to start. I had an
illness which affected me spinal fluid and
went up into my head. No-one believed me,
I was back and forth to the hospital
fearing for my life. I know now what
caused it but it left me with such bad
anxiety. She could simply have ahad a
virus of some sort as I would never have
believed a virus could have made me that
unwell until it struck me.
I couldn`t move, I couldn`t dress, I got
severely depressed, I was so anxious I
checked my pulse every minute of the day
to check I was still alive, I cried
constantly, hot and cold flushes, my face
and arms went numb, one side of my face
completely droop and it looked like I had
a stroke. I have been unable to work
since as the illness has left me with
chronic fatigue.
The anxiety is still there but it does get
better. Please don`t believe everything
you read everything is different for each
individual. At one point I couldn`t go to
the bathroom on my own now i`m starting to
go out shopping and gaining my strength
again. It`s been a struggle but i`m
getting there. Please message me if you
would like any information as I have used
several programmes to help with my
anxiety, I would like to help.
