Well, it takes up to 3 weeks for the crust to come off. Once it comes off, it's not too pretty. :) the skin is red and in some cases, raised and still very sore. The cherry blossom flower I had done 2 months ago is still very red, raised and hurts! This can last up to 6 months.

For a temporary fix, I would go with a professional make-up coverage. For a more permanent solution later on (after the big day), you can look into the rejuvi method or even laser. You mentioned it was black and that is the easiest color to remove by laser, plus less scarring. My tattoo is huge and full of color. Laser did not work for me, so I am going the rejuvi way!

Good luck! And congrats on your big day. Hope it's a special one!

Rejuvi Risks
I have been following this topic for awhile now. I have a tattoo on the top of my foot - it's about 3/4" square with black, blue and purple ink. I have a friend who does laser removal and I could get it done for free. I'm just worried about scarring since this is a very visible area. I had heard about rejuvi and was interested because it seems like the results are better and cheaper than laser. However, I think I will go to someone who is experienced with this technique and the quote I got was $250, which seems high for such a small area.
Anyway, catgirl, in your last post you mention that lasers work best on black ink and less scarring. I thought rejuvi had less scarring? I'm just trying to weigh my pros & cons here. The most important thing to me is the end result, i'd like little to no signs that i've had a tattoo there. Money is probably second, I don't care about pain because it's temporary.

If done properly, the rejuvi shouldnt leave a scar. People seem to get the impression that having a tattoo in the first place is actaually scarring the skin. It isnt that way, the ink is put into the skin at a particular depth. Rejuvi finds that depth and draws the ink out again. Once healed its all gone.

Well at least it should be that easy!

How's the Healing?
Hey kristo, how well has yours healed up? Are you experiencing redness and is the skin raised a bit? The dragon on mine has done well, but the flower that was done first is still very red and slightly raised. My other treatments have just healed, so of course they're still red. I'm just worried about this flower!

Sorry it has taken ages to write back. The tattoo is still very much there as I expected but its at least half faded and in someplaces completely gone. Problem is that with a tshirt on its really visible and everyone asks 'what the hell happened there'. Im getting bored of explaining!!!

I need to go again asap but it the money!!!

Rejuvi
I just got rejuvi a few days ago. I was wondering how long it was before it got completely hard and about how long it took for the scab to start coming off.

Rejuvi
I had mine done a while back. It took every bit of 3 weeks for the huge scab to fall off. I am very happy with the result after one treatment. I need to go do it at least one more time. I would say more than 50% of the tat is gone after one treatment. The three weeks of keeping it dry can be a pain. It does stay pretty red for quite a while after the scab falls off, but then it is flat. No scarring.

Good luck.

I Was Wondering
Im wanting to get my tattoo removed and I have a couple of questions bout it .
I heard that the newier the tattoo is the easier it is too remove is that true? As I got mine done not that long ago but to cut a long story shut I want to get rid of it.

Have you heard of anyone having any problems with it?

I have an outline of a smiley face and do you think it would be pretty simple to get rid of?

Rejuvi Success
I had this process done in Naples FL. The Pro is that I was fortunate to get 100% removal- the Con is that this is taking very long to heal. It has been 1 month since rejuvi took my complete tattoo off, and now the healing process looks like I have been "branded" does anyone have pics of what the skin looks like 6 months after treatment? I have pics to share too about my experience. It is def. a more effective way to remove tattoo's and anyone who is thinking about getting this done, should not start Lazer treatments. Once the Lazer hits the skin it makes the rejuvi 20% less effective. I never had the lazer done, and the person who did my removal said this was the most effective result she achieved considering a lazer never touched my skin. I still have the second half of the tattoo to remove. to be continued...

How's Your Progress?
Catgirl i looked at your journal but you've not added to it since October... are you still having treatments? And Kristo, are you still having treatments?

I had Rejuvi/e-raze done at a tattooists near where i live. I had 3 tattoos treated, they are all roughly 1" square. As i had all 3 done at the same time, i was charged £100 instead of £50 each which is what they'd have charged if i had them treated seperately.

It's been a week and a day since treatment, one tattoo irritates so much! The other two seem to be doing nothing.

Uptowngal, how's your progress?

I have some rather large tattoos. The first one I want off takes up my entire shoulder blade. I saw a dermatologist and he said it would take 18 hours to have it taken off! The tattoo itself only took 2 hours to put on, so I’m confused why he said the rejuvi would take 18. He said it may need to be done twice, so now that’s 36 hours total, for a total of around $10-15 thousand. I thought that was outrageous and haven’t gone back. He tried to talk me into laser removal, saying that rejuvi leaves MORE scaring than laser. All the research I’ve done has said the opposite. Is this guy full of it or can rejuvi really cost this much?

Also, I’m interested where you had your rejuvi done uptowngal? I drove out to Orlando to see this guy.

Hi there; I've had rejuvi treatment 3 days ago. The esthetician told me to remove the crust using a hydrogine peroxide about 6 hours later. That's what I did! After reading that the crust must have stayed and must fallen out by itself; I have started to panic badly. I have been putting on anti-bacterial creams on the open area; and waiting for it to crust again (this is again what the woman told me should happen on the open area). What do you think? Will it crust? and will that crusting cause futher removal of the tattoo, or that I have lost my chances at all? Thank you very much for all answers.

Laser tattoo removal
I don't know what about you guys but as far as I am concern the only good way to get rid of a tattoo is laser.

Regardless of which method of tattoo removal is used, some scarring or color variations are likely to remain. Healing time varies depending upon the size and depth of the tattoo, the proce-dure used and the patient's healing process. It is important for the patient to discuss with the physician the various procedures, how they are performed, and the probable results. Care of the treated area must also be discussed.

Rejuvi disaster!
Had my tattoo lasered 5 times = no scarring but clinic a bit far away.So decided to try Rejuvi. THe treatment itself is much more painful then laser, the aftercare is timeconsuming and soooo painful! I had to go to the doctor and get anitbiotics because of infection and scab coming off etc. i am left with the same shade on teh tatto but with lots of scarring, redness and still slight soreness, this is after 3 months! DO NOT DO THI unless your tatto is small!!! mine was 1 ich x 1 inch on my ancle, so not huge. am going bakc to see a laser doctor to see what tehy can so to help me.

How much success have you had with tat gone ink?
and how many sessions did you have to do? I've had about 3 sessions so far with about 75% removal of ink.

tat gone ink- re: Hopeful321
I have only had one session on one tattoo, on my stomach, and two on another tattoo, on my ankle. It seems like the ankle one is a little more difficult. The one on my stomach looks amazing after only one session. It is a word, "King." Some spots of the letters are completely white! With the one on my ankle though, I definiately saw a change after the first session, but it remained a little red in some areas. I think it will scar, honestly. I think it's a tough area to remove a tattoo because I'm always walking/running, etc. I've felt it crack open sometimes while running in a rush to the train or whatever. It's really annoying. I got the second session on 4/11 so it is still scabbed up. I don't know how it will look but I think it will look better because the scab is pretty dark. (My tattoo is completely all black.) So that was good.

Also, I did get a session inbetween this one on the ankle tattoo. So I really got 3. But I didn't count it because she used dried tat gone ink. It was all dried up and she added water to wet it so she could tattoo it. It didn't work at all. It didn't scab up hard and it flaked off in 2 weeks and no ink came out at all. So definately make sure you don't wait a long time inbetween sessions because obviously the stuff dries up and you can't use it.
