Hey last week my natropath found out I was
hypoglycemiac.
Since then I have cut down alot on sugars
and carbs, I also found out im glutent
intolerant as well, so its been pretty
ahrd to find the right foods to eat.
My main diet is alot of protein, low carbs
and low sugars.
Im a 22 yr old male and iv'e come across
one real hard thing to simply give up and
thats alcohol. Iv'e read that it is still
possible to drink occasionally as long as
I have a good meal before hand and eat
regular snacks through out the night. Is
this correct?
And can you give me any other tips if im
going to have a night out and a few
drinks.
Thanks

You should primarily cut down on sugars.
For at least two weeks, your carbohydrate
intake should drop to about 40-60g a day.
Then, add a bit each day until you can
get up to 100g. That's the maximum you
should have on any given day until you
find you can add more with no resurgence
of any symptoms. Avoid all fruit for the
first 20 days of your diet. Alcohol
should be completely avoided until you are
able to, say, eat a cookie with no
symptoms. Even then, you should be
having no more than one glass per day,
unless you can handle it with no symptoms.
It's not worth it and will only keep
causing you more problems. You don't
need to drink to enjoy yourself. If you
think you do, you need to rethink your
free time and find other things.

Yeah I plan to cut down on all alcohol for
at least 2 to 3 months, until I feel alot
better.
But I want to know if anyone here has
drank im sure some have while having
hypoglycemia.
As I drank a bit when I had it, just not
realsing it had hypoglycemia yet, and only
sometimes after drinking I had
hypolgylcemia symptoms, other times I woke
up and felt fine

Yeah, it happened to me too. I actually
never drank when I was younger and was
pretty much on a hypoglycemic diet until I
reached college. I started having vodka
here and there during my fourth year and
after that. I can remember several times
I would have massive headaches on only a
bit of alcohol as well as other symptoms.
Never thought anything of it then.
