I have been taking ortho tri-cyclen lo for 20 days straight, no breaks trying to get some relief from endometriosis. My question is this my breasts are tender and I have increased a whole cup size, is this normal? My last period was not normal, so I am wondering about being pregnant.

Thanks
marisa

Not sure...I would check with your doctor or get a pregnancy test. All bodies are different but I didn't have breast tenderness or fullness except for right before my period.

Thanks a bunch for trying to answer my question. I was wondering if I would ever get a response. How long have you been on ortho lo?

Extremely eHealthy
Actually I have seen a few women increase breast size on otc, and otc lo. They are side effects of the pill, and some women do worry because that can also be a sign of pregnancy. How was your period not normal?

When I was on ortho lo my boobs would hurt soooooooooo bad they were sore like every day and around my period hurt worse! I asked the gyno why they hurt they said the bc. I switched to seasonal 3 months ago and my boobs don't hurt anymore.

When it comes to my last period...Started dec 7th very light, bled or more like spotted 2 days then it stopped for a day and a half, then started up again for 2 more days.
Now a little history, my periods are terrible. My cycle is irregular, so it can throw me off alot of the time. When it does start you can bet it will last for 7 or 8 days, and be extremely heavy. I also have endometriosis, kinda explains why I have such terrible periods.
I started the bc on the 16th of dec to try and get things under control. I am suppose to take it everyday, with no placebo pills all hormones.
I heard that a small percentage of women who take it this way have no periods or spotting right from the beginning.
I have been pregnant twice before, but I had no symptoms, I had problems in the end but thats a whole other story.

I have this feeling like I have just done a ton of crunches, whats up with that?

Thanks for listening and helping me out

Ortho Tri-cyclen Lo
I have been on ortho tri-cyclen lo for almost a year, and I am about to get off of it. Within the first two months of taking it, my breast size increased from an a to a c. It has slowly decreased to a b. This pill was fine for the first 3 or 4 months, but I have had constant yeast infections, bacterial infections, and utis since july/august 2005. My sex drive is at 0, and it used to be above average. I did not notice it dropping until around september/october 2005. Watch out for these symptoms...They do not go away. I am switching to alesse in a few weeks.

Ortho lo makes you retain a lot of water and its hard for you to lose weight...I was on it for 5 years! I got off of it 5 weeks ago...I already feel less bloated

Re:Marissa
hey.
so i'm going through the same thing. i've been off birth control for two years now and prior i was on tricyclen. now its the tricyclen-lo.
i'm getting breast sensitivity like every morning and they're totally growing (started week one). i just talked to a nurse cause i started to get my period in like week two (boooo!!) but it was just for a couple days.
i'm not gaining weight though. if anything the upset tummy that i get from taking them in the morning kills my appetite (i do take them with food though). so if that helps anyone that thinks you get fat from birth control there's a contrary opinion. i've lost weight-and grown boobs!! woo hoo

*but the nurse was saying the downside to tricyclen lo is that due to the low dosage of hormones you have to be really careful with taking them at the same time.
and i didn't skip any pills to trigger my period but i could have possibly taken them a couple hours later than the day before. and apparently that can be enough to trigger a period.
first three months though these kinds of side affects are very common-spotting, cramping, boob sensitivity. i don't know if i'm gonna tough it out. i don't want to be bleeding all the time. thats no fun at all.
tricyclen original was pretty trusty for not so many side affects.
