Q: Why the Shaking Fits? Related to Panic Disorder?

Three times in the last two years, i've had 15-20 minute uncontrollable shaking fits. They have occurred:

late at night (past 2am)
after drinking alcohol (but not drunk)
without a significant trigger event

the shivering escalates to a full-body shaking that is very difficult to stop, apparently originating in the lower back. It usually is not because i'm actually cold. It seems my body eventually tires out enough for me to sleep. I really have to relax all of my muscles in order for it to temporarily stop.

I am taking 50 mg of zoloft for panic disorder, and have not had a panic attack in over a year. Is this shaking related? It's pretty scary, it almost feels convulsive. I had one last weekend and had a tough time catching my breath since my chest muscles were contracting so rapidly.

If anyone has any insight i'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

I dont know if I experienced something similar, mine was more of a one off, or rather I allowed it to happen only once.
Panic attack is possible I think, but in my experience panic attacks are often telling you something you don't know, or dont want to know, and that doesnt always mean its psychological,
i would suggest having a look at where you are in your life, obviously a muso, "hopefully making good music" has anything happened recently or come up in any way, do you feel different in some way, eating habits, etc,
i needed to stop everything to figure some of my stuff out,
careful in your industry too, what gets slipped into your drinks, sometimes by people who like you, sometimes you dont notice it, until later, or the effects are clouded, best idea is have a talk to your doctor, and try some meditation, its good for bass players
